This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Network Engineer in the United States. We are seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer specializing in virtualization to support complex network environments and enterprise-level solutions. In this role, you will design, implement, and maintain virtualized infrastructure while ensuring optimal performance, cybersecurity compliance, and system reliability. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, provide technical guidance, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. This position offers the opportunity to work on high-impact projects, support critical operations, and implement advanced VMware and networking solutions in a dynamic, mission-driven environment. \n Accountabilities: Design, configure, and maintain VMware-based infrastructure, including vSphere, NSX, and vSAN, ensuring high availability and performance. Provide root-cause analysis and resolve complex network and virtualization issues. Perform system monitoring, backups, restorations, and application upgrades to maintain continuous operations. Conduct vulnerability remediation and enforce cybersecurity compliance per DoD requirements. Document system changes and maintain accurate records in systems of record. Collaborate with other network engineers, system administrators, and cybersecurity personnel to deliver reliable solutions. Advise stakeholders on system status, optimizations, and improvement initiatives. Manage tickets, track problems, and report resolutions using appropriate tools. Requirements: Candidates should bring extensive experience in network engineering, virtualization, and systems administration. Essential qualifications include: 10+ years of general IT experience, with at least 7 years in network engineering and virtualization. 1+ years in a management or leadership role preferred. Proficiency in Internet protocols (DNS, HTTP, SMTP, SSL), firewall configuration, and troubleshooting. Expertise in VMware Cloud Foundation, vSphere, NSX, and vSAN, including patching, upgrades, and maintenance. Experience with distributed firewalls, NAT, load balancing, VXLAN, and micro-segmentation. Ability to migrate VMs and workloads across VMware platforms. Active DoD Secret Security Clearance and current DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification or higher. Strong communication, documentation, and presentation skills, including Microsoft PowerPoint and Visio. Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell is a plus. Desired certifications: VCTA, VCP-DCV, VCAP, VCDX-DCV, CCNA, or JNCIA.
