You’ll serve as a key technical resource across infrastructure, systems administration, end-user support, cybersecurity, and vendor management. The role combines hands-on operational oversight with strategic project support and continuous improvement. You’ll work closely with internal stakeholders and external technology partners to solve complex issues and implement effective technology solutions. Success in this position requires strong technical judgment, organization, and the ability to translate technology needs into practical business outcomes. You’ll also contribute to initiatives that strengthen security, resilience, and overall organizational performance. \n Accountabilities Oversee daily IT operations, monitoring system reliability and performance while coordinating the resolution of escalated technical issues. Provide advanced oversight of hardware, software, cloud-based infrastructure, and business applications, including collaborative and HR systems. Manage user accounts, permissions, system access, and onboarding/offboarding processes while maintaining accurate technical documentation. Support the development and implementation of IT policies, standards, procedures, and operational best practices. Coordinate technology initiatives, including system upgrades, integrations, new technology implementations, and process improvement projects. Partner with department leaders to understand operational requirements, recommend technology solutions, and evaluate emerging technologies. Participate in strategic planning related to IT infrastructure, operations, technology investments, and organizational improvement. Serve as a primary point of contact for external IT vendors, consultants, and service providers, coordinating deliverables, maintenance, service requests, and issue resolution. Monitor vendor performance and support contract and service-level agreement compliance, including coordination of technology purchases and renewals. Support cybersecurity initiatives, system monitoring, security updates, patching, access controls, and operational risk mitigation. Assist with data privacy and security compliance activities and participate in disaster recovery and business continuity planning. Collaborate across teams to communicate technical concepts clearly, resolve operational challenges, and ensure technology services meet organizational needs. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or a related field is preferred. 7+ years of progressive experience in IT operations, systems administration, or technology support, preferably within a life sciences, healthcare, or global health environment. Demonstrated experience coordinating external technology vendors, consultants, and service providers. Strong knowledge of cloud-based IT infrastructure, collaborative platforms, systems administration, and IT operational support. Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices, operational risk management, and security frameworks such as NIST 800-171 and Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification. Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, with the judgment to manage escalated technical issues effectively. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners. Preferred certifications include CompTIA Security+, Microsoft certifications, and/or cloud platform credentials such as Microsoft Information Security Administrator Associate, Microsoft 365 Administrator Expert, or Microsoft Certified Power Platform Developer Associate. Willingness and ability to travel domestically for organization-wide staff meetings. Ability to successfully complete required background, education, and professional-reference verification processes. Benefits Full-time position with a remote work arrangement available within the United States. Annual salary range of $110,000–$125,000, depending on skills, experience, training, certifications, and education. Medical, dental, and vision insurance. Flexible spending account options. Flexible vacation and sick leave. Short-term and long-term disability coverage. 10 federal holidays plus an end-of-year winter break. Employer-matching 401(k) plan.
