As a Journeyman Software Developer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining secure, scalable, and modern web applications for mission-critical projects. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including cloud engineers, DevSecOps, and UI/UX designers, to deliver innovative software solutions. Working in Agile environments, you will contribute to full-stack development, integrate APIs and third-party services, and help ensure software quality through testing, code reviews, and CI/CD processes. Accountabilities Design, develop, test, and maintain front-end and back-end components of web-based applications. Write clean, scalable, and well-documented code aligned with industry and security best practices. Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and code reviews. Collaborate with DevSecOps, cloud engineers, UI/UX designers, and technical leads to deliver responsive and secure solutions. Integrate APIs, data models, and third-party services to extend system functionality. Support test planning, unit testing, and deployment activities, particularly in cloud environments. Document architecture, workflows, and code changes using SDLC tools like Jira, GitHub, and Confluence. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including CI/CD pipeline enhancements, system performance optimization, and application security. U.S. Citizenship required; ability to obtain Public Trust and eligibility for Secret Clearance. Minimum of 3 years of professional software development experience. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent practical experience. Proficiency in at least two of the following: C#, Node.js, React, TypeScript, Java, Python. Familiarity with relational databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL). Experience with Git and modern SDLC tools (GitHub, GitLab, Jira). Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and web application architecture. Ability to work independently and effectively with distributed Agile teams. Preferred experience in DoD or federal contracting environments, cloud environments such as Azure Government, FedRAMP Moderate SaaS deployments, AI/ML integration, and knowledge of FISMA, DFARS, or NIST 800-53 compliance.
