This role is vital in leading the strategic direction of the Biologics Intellectual Property team, ensuring robust IP management to support innovative cancer therapeutics. You will influence research, business development, and commercialization efforts, providing expert guidance to senior leadership. Your work will have a significant impact on the company's mission to fight cancer by driving excellence in IP practices and fostering collaboration across global teams. \n Accountabilities Lead an IP team in the US and China focused on maintaining a strong intellectual property portfolio. Serve as a strategic partner and IP thought leader for senior leaders in various departments. Support corporate development and research collaborations, including due diligence assessments. Monitor patent trends and adjust IP strategies accordingly. Conduct patent and prior art searches, and perform competitive analysis. Review draft publications and presentations for compliance. Provide litigation support, including validity and non-infringement analysis. Requirements Juris Doctor from an accredited U.S. law school; admitted to USPTO and at least one state bar. Advanced degree in biological sciences, Ph.D. preferred. At least 15 years of relevant experience in biopharmaceutical intellectual property practice, with at least 7 years in-house. Supervisory experience preferred, leading and managing IP attorneys. Deep understanding of global biopharmaceutical patent law and related regulations. Experience in drug discovery and development in the pharmaceutical industry. Proven track record of patent portfolio development and drafting patent applications. Ability to collaborate effectively and work independently in a fast-paced environment. Strong analytical skills and ability to translate complex laws into practical legal advice.
