This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director of Strategic Sourcing and Procurement based in the United States. This executive-level role leads enterprise sourcing and procurement strategies that drive supply chain resilience, operational excellence, and sustainable growth. You will shape procurement frameworks, supplier partnerships, and strategic initiatives that directly impact business performance. The position combines strategic leadership, team development, commercial negotiation, and cross-functional collaboration. You will oversee critical spend portfolios while balancing cost optimization, quality, innovation, and responsible sourcing priorities. Working across teams such as operations, finance, sustainability, and innovation, you will influence decisions that support long-term business goals. This is an opportunity for an experienced procurement leader to build scalable capabilities within a mission-driven, high-growth environment. \n Accountabilities: The Director of Strategic Sourcing and Procurement will define and execute sourcing strategies, strengthen procurement operations, and build organizational capabilities to support business growth. This role requires a strategic leader who can manage complex supplier ecosystems, improve operational performance, and establish scalable procurement practices. Lead and develop Strategic Sourcing and Procurement Operations teams, building capabilities across supplier management, negotiations, cost modeling, risk management, and execution. Establish procurement strategies, governance frameworks, decision models, and operating processes that improve efficiency and scalability. Own sourcing performance initiatives, including cost savings, cost avoidance, inflation mitigation, supplier leverage, working capital improvement, and supply risk reduction. Develop category and multi-year sourcing strategies aligned with growth objectives, sustainability commitments, margin targets, and supply continuity. Build strategic supplier relationships, including direct sourcing models, long-term partnerships, regional networks, and innovative supply arrangements. Oversee supplier performance management through segmentation, scorecards, business reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives. Partner with cross-functional leaders across finance, operations, quality, sustainability, trade, and innovation to align sourcing priorities with business objectives. Manage procurement operations, including purchasing processes, purchase order lifecycle, demand alignment, inventory optimization, and compliance. Develop reporting structures and KPIs to monitor procurement performance, supplier reliability, quality, cost efficiency, and operational improvements. Support executive decision-making through market intelligence, commodity analysis, risk assessments, and strategic recommendations. Drive change management initiatives and continuous improvement programs as the organization scales. Ensure sourcing and procurement practices align with regulatory requirements, quality standards, sustainability goals, and responsible supply chain principles. Requirements: The ideal candidate is a seasoned procurement and sourcing leader with strong experience managing strategic initiatives, supplier relationships, and high-performing teams in complex environments. 10+ years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing and procurement, preferably within food, consumer packaged goods (CPG), or related industries. Proven experience leading and developing procurement and sourcing teams. Strong background in supplier strategy, commercial negotiations, contract management, and cost optimization. Experience with organic ingredient sourcing, agricultural supply chains, or sustainability-focused procurement preferred. Deep understanding of procurement processes, supply chain risk management, and supplier performance management. Experience with MRP processes and the ability to analyze data to identify operational improvements. Demonstrated success transforming procurement organizations through change management and scalable processes. Strong knowledge of food safety, regulatory requirements, and organic certification standards preferred. Ability to influence executive stakeholders and collaborate effectively across multiple business functions. Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, communication, and decision-making skills. Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and purpose-driven environment. Willingness to travel up to 20% for company meetings, team gatherings, and business needs. Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
