This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director of Research based in United States. This is a senior research and strategy leadership role focused on understanding the forces reshaping the US healthcare landscape. You’ll lead strategic research initiatives that turn complex market developments, policy shifts, and emerging trends into clear, compelling insights. Your work will directly inform organizational strategy, thought leadership, offering development, and business development priorities. You’ll serve as a trusted thought partner to senior leadership while collaborating with subject matter experts and teams across a healthcare-focused professional services environment. The role combines independent research, analytical rigor, strategic storytelling, and executive communication. You’ll also help strengthen research capabilities, data systems, and ways of working while fostering a culture of creativity and critical thinking. This is an opportunity to shape influential perspectives on the most important challenges and opportunities facing healthcare. \n Accountabilities Lead the development and execution of strategic research and insights programs, translating complex healthcare trends and emerging issues into compelling perspectives for internal and external audiences. Maintain deep, current knowledge of relevant healthcare markets, functions, policy developments, and industry dynamics while proactively identifying emerging trends and their implications. Act as a strategic thought partner to senior leadership, bringing research-backed perspectives that inform organizational strategy, priorities, and growth initiatives. Develop and contribute to white papers, executive briefs, primers, thought leadership, and other intellectual capital that strengthens market positioning and industry credibility. Independently research, develop, and refine perspectives on critical healthcare trends while collaborating with senior leaders, subject matter experts, and service-line partners. Translate quantitative and qualitative research into clear, actionable insights that can support strategic decisions and diverse stakeholder needs. Support growth priorities through research and insights that inform business development, offering development, go-to-market strategies, and policy implication analysis. Partner with colleagues to design, enhance, and maintain data systems and research capabilities that support high-quality insights. Promote continuous improvement, creativity, critical thinking, and strategic problem-solving across research initiatives and cross-functional collaborations. Manage multiple strategic research priorities simultaneously, balancing stakeholder expectations, deadlines, and quality standards. Build strong relationships and influence decisions across organizational levels without relying on formal authority. Model a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance approach in interactions with colleagues and stakeholders. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare, or a related field; a Master’s degree such as an MBA, MHA, MPH, or equivalent is preferred. 8+ years of progressively responsible experience in management consulting, strategic insights, research, strategy, or similar knowledge-intensive functions. Experience working in professional services, consulting, healthcare strategy, or another research-driven environment. Strong strategic mindset with the ability to connect organizational priorities to focused research agendas and actionable insights. Exceptional critical-thinking, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities, including the ability to synthesize complex information and quantitative data. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate sophisticated ideas clearly to senior executives and varied audiences. Demonstrated expertise in healthcare trends, policy, market dynamics, and operational issues affecting health systems and health plans. Proven ability to navigate ambiguity, structure evolving topics, and improve research processes and workflows. Strong prioritization and workload-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple competing stakeholder priorities without compromising quality. Demonstrated ability to influence and build trusted relationships across organizational levels and functional teams. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint, as well as data visualization and business intelligence tools. Familiarity with emerging AI tools and their application to research, analysis, and knowledge work. Experience with market research methodologies, data analysis, business intelligence, thought leadership, business development, or policy analysis is preferred.
