This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Data Product Owner - Remote (required travel to NJ) in the United States. The Data Product Owner will play a key role in shaping and delivering high-impact data products that drive strategic business outcomes. This position involves partnering closely with business stakeholders to define the data product vision, prioritize initiatives, and ensure alignment across engineering, analytics, and governance teams. You will design target data models, enforce data quality standards, and translate business requirements into actionable technical specifications. The role requires strong hands-on experience with SQL, Python, and PySpark, along with excellent communication skills to facilitate collaboration across remote and on-site teams. This is a remote position with occasional travel required to New Jersey for key meetings and events. Accountabilities Partner with business stakeholders to gather, refine, and prioritize requirements for data products that drive strategic outcomes. Define and communicate the data product vision, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Develop detailed use cases, maintain a prioritized product roadmap, and identify relevant data sources. Document functional and technical specifications for engineering and analytics teams. Design business-consumable target data models to guide implementation and support decision-making. Establish and enforce data quality standards, governance policies, and security protocols to ensure trustworthy, compliant data. Lead cross-functional development teams to ensure product goals are clearly understood and achieved. Conduct hands-on data analysis using SQL and support development with Python and PySpark where needed. Proven experience as a Data Product Owner, Data Analyst, or similar role in managing and delivering data-focused products. Hands-on experience with SQL queries for data analysis and reporting. Proficiency in Python and PySpark is required. Strong understanding of data modeling, governance, and security best practices. Experience translating business requirements into technical specifications and actionable product roadmaps. Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across remote and on-site teams. Strong problem-solving, analytical, and prioritization skills. Familiarity with data-driven decision-making and metrics tracking to ensure product impact. Competitive salary based on experience.
