This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Data Engineer in the United States. This role offers the opportunity to design, implement, and operate secure and scalable data systems that support mission-critical operations across cloud and on-premises environments. The Data Engineer will work on building advanced data pipelines, streaming solutions, and infrastructure automation using modern technologies such as Kubernetes, Kafka, Redpanda, and Terraform. You will collaborate closely with platform, cybersecurity, and development teams to ensure reliable, compliant, and efficient data workflows. This role requires a problem-solving mindset, strong technical expertise, and the ability to communicate complex concepts across technical and non-technical audiences. Travel is required 6–10 times per year, and the position supports remote work within the U.S. Accountabilities: · Design, deploy, and maintain data pipelines, workflows, and ETL/ELT processes across AWS cloud and on-premises systems. · Implement and operate data streaming technologies (Kafka, Redpanda, Kinesis) within Kubernetes, emphasizing reliability and declarative configurations. · Collaborate with platform teams to automate infrastructure provisioning, monitoring, scaling, and performance optimization using tools like Terraform. · Ensure security, compliance, and adherence to industry and DoD standards across all data systems. · Conduct analysis of large-scale data flows, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to optimize system performance and reliability. · Stay current on emerging technologies in Kubernetes, containerization, and data engineering, recommending improvements where appropriate. · Support cross-team collaboration to incorporate best practices in configuration management, cybersecurity, and system reliability. · U.S. Citizenship required; ability to obtain and maintain a Secret-level DoD security clearance. · Proven experience building and maintaining production data pipelines, databases, and data streaming solutions on Kubernetes. · Strong experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes). · Knowledge of systems engineering principles, including backup, recovery, scalability, and maintainability. · Familiarity with AWS cloud services and cybersecurity principles for securing data systems. · Experience with high-volume data processing, API security, and cloud security best practices. · Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills; ability to convey complex concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders. · Preferred: experience with machine learning and generative AI models. · Competitive salary: $123,250–$201,250 USD, based on experience and location. · Fully remote work within the United States. · Health coverage: Medical, Dental, Vision (100% company-paid premiums). · Health reimbursement account, life insurance, and disability coverage. · 401(k) retirement plan and company stock options. · Home office budget for equipment and setup. · Unlimited paid time off with mandatory holidays, parental leave, and additional holiday weeks. · Professional development: training reimbursement, conference attendance, and subscription support. · Inclusive and diverse work environment committed to equal opportunity.
