This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Cloud Engineer (Remote) in the United States. The Cloud Engineer will play a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable cloud infrastructure that supports large-scale, multi-agency systems. You will ensure secure and reliable operations of cloud-hosted platforms handling sensitive healthcare and government data. This position involves collaborating with cross-functional teams including developers, analysts, and data managers to optimize performance, monitor systems, and automate deployments. You will be responsible for enforcing best practices in security, access control, and compliance, while providing solutions that enhance uptime, efficiency, and scalability. The role offers exposure to cutting-edge cloud technologies, infrastructure as code, containerization, and DevOps practices, all within a highly dynamic and impact-driven environment. Accountabilities Design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure and services in a secure, scalable, and efficient manner. Support deployment and hosting of applications, databases, and analytics platforms. Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to ensure availability and performance. Manage user access, roles, and security controls, including protection of sensitive data (PHI/PII). Assist in DevOps practices including automation of deployments, backups, and patching. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot infrastructure issues and recommend improvements. Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices in cloud and healthcare environments. Perform other duties as assigned to maintain reliable and secure cloud operations. 5+ years of experience as a Cloud Engineer or in a similar role. Strong hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. Expertise in virtual networking, load balancing, compute/storage services, and identity management. Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM templates. Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines. Knowledge of data encryption, key management, and access control mechanisms. Experience supporting cloud environments that host regulated data (HIPAA, FedRAMP, NIST frameworks). Strong problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills. Preferred: Experience supporting state Medicaid, CHIP, or other public sector health programs. Exposure to enterprise reporting tools, dashboards, or quality management platforms. Familiarity with performance reporting standards such as HEDIS or CAHPS.
