This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Backend Product Software Engineer, Commerce Platform in the United States. This role provides the opportunity to design, build, and scale backend systems that power commerce and monetization for products used by millions of users worldwide. You will work on highly resilient, secure, and performant services that directly impact the company’s business operations and customer experiences. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, driving architectural improvements, and ensuring platform reliability while mentoring junior engineers. Your contributions will be visible and measurable, offering a direct link between engineering work and business impact. Accountabilities Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services for the commerce platform. Plan, forecast, and implement architectural improvements to enhance platform performance and reliability. Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to deliver features that meet both technical and business requirements. Ensure seamless customer experiences by prioritizing security, robustness, and high availability in all services. Mentor junior engineers, fostering technical growth and contributing to the overall success of the engineering team. Participate in on-call rotations to maintain continuous service operation and promptly respond to incidents. Adapt to evolving technical challenges and contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes. Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent experience. 5+ years of professional experience building robust, scalable applications. Proven track record of delivering projects from concept to implementation with measurable results. Strong experience in backend development, with a deep understanding of distributed systems and web applications. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to balance technical and business trade-offs. Experience mentoring and guiding junior engineers in professional development. Familiarity with technologies such as MySQL, Python, Go, Java, or Rust is preferred. Contributions to open source projects or technical communities are a plus. Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced, and collaborative environment.
