As a Backend Engineer on the Customer Experience Platform team, you will play a pivotal role in designing, building, and scaling backend systems that power customer support operations for a rapidly growing online marketplace. You will develop and maintain infrastructure that efficiently handles high volumes of technical, purchasing, and logistics issues, while implementing AI-driven automation tools to streamline issue resolution. Continuously monitor and improve system performance, reliability, and security. 5+ years of full-time software engineering experience, preferably in high-growth startups. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience. Proven experience building end-to-end product experiences and scaling backend systems. Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, and experience with relational databases (Postgres preferred). Experience with Elixir or other backend technologies is a plus. Ownership mindset with a track record of managing projects from inception to deployment. Excellent problem-solving skills, particularly in ambiguous situations. Strong communication and leadership abilities to guide team members and collaborate cross-functionally.
