As an Associate Principal Engineer, PHP, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining complex web applications and digital products. You will leverage your expertise in PHP and full-stack development to provide strategic technical guidance, ensuring scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will influence architecture decisions, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to best practices across the engineering organization. Accountabilities In this role, you will be responsible for: Designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality, scalable PHP-based applications and services. Providing architectural guidance and strategic technical insights to engineering teams. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including product, design, and QA, to deliver robust solutions. Mentoring and supporting junior engineers, fostering knowledge sharing and skill development. Reviewing code, ensuring adherence to best practices, and maintaining high standards for security and performance. Identifying opportunities to improve development processes, tools, and workflows. The ideal candidate will have: Extensive experience in PHP development, with a strong understanding of modern frameworks and best practices. Proven track record of leading complex projects and delivering scalable solutions. Deep knowledge of software architecture, design patterns, and code optimization. Experience in mentoring, coaching, or guiding engineering teams. Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders. Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Nice to Have: Experience with full-stack development, including frontend frameworks. Knowledge of cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization technologies. Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
