Full Description

Job Description JMP, a subsidiary of SAS, is committed to empowering scientists and engineers via our world-class family of statistical software products. For over 35 years, JMP has enabled customers to speed new drugs to market, to design better products and processes, and to figure out how to restore ecosystems. Advancements are made when brilliant people use JMP statistical discovery software to see what they’ve not seen before. If you are a problem solver, a connector, and someone who enjoys helping others, then you might just be the next person to join this dynamic, growing, and global team. About the job JMP is hiring a Sr. Product Manager to help shape two major product directions: Natural Language Interfaces and the JMP Marketplace. The statistical software market is shifting to conversational interfaces. JMP is building natural language capabilities that allows scientists and engineers ask questions in plain English and get real statistical analysis back. This PM will define what gets built and when, based on how users actually work with data. You'll own the roadmap for bringing NLI features into JMP. That means choosing which capabilities ship first, testing them with real users, and iterating based on what works. You'll have direct impact on how hundreds of thousands of scientists and engineers worldwide interact with statistical software. The second piece is the JMP Marketplace. Users already share Add-Ins, Data Connectors, and Extensions through this platform. This PM will build the strategy for what functionality belongs in core JMP, what becomes a marketplace offering, and what third parties should develop. You'll define how JMP extends its capabilities while keeping the product focused. This role gives you two distinct challenges. For NLI, you're working at the front edge of conversational analytics. For Marketplace, you're helping to build an ecosystem that expands what JMP can do. You'll write code in JSL or Python, analyze usage patterns, and work with external developers. You get to move fast on emerging technology while building long-term platform strategy! Required Skills: 7+ years of experience in JMP, analytics, data tools, or a JMP core industry (Chemical, Semiconductor, CP&G, HLS). Technical fluency in scripting languages (JSL, Python, R, or similar). Background in statistical software, data science tools, or scientific computing. Hands-on coding ability to build and test prototypes quickly. Strong user research skills to validate what features actually matter. Experience with API design, data connectors, or integration frameworks. Ability to balance competing priorities across multiple product lines. Ability to collaborate effectively and directly with key stakeholders including engineers, scientists, and JMP R&D. Required qualifications: Master’s degree or PhD in a science, statistics, engineering, or related technical field. 3+ years of experience in software, analytics, or developer tools. Demonstrated ability to write and debug code in at least one scripting language (Python, R, JSL, or similar). Experience working with technical users like data scientists, engineers, or statisticians. Strong presenter and writer; demonstrated ability to present complex topics or concepts to external audiences. World-class benefits Highlights include... Comprehensive medical, prescription, dental and vision plans. Medical plan options include: PPO with low annual deductible and copays. HDHP combined with a health savings account with a contribution from SAS (no access to on-site health care center). Onsite Health Care Center (HQ) that’s free to employees and family members enrolled in the PPO plan. There's a pharmacy too! Not local to HQ? The pharmacy will ship prescriptions for no additional charge! An industry-leading 401k plan. Tuition Assistance Program and programs and resources to support your development Generous time away including vacation time, a variety of paid holidays, and our much-loved U.S. Winter Wellness Break between December 25 and January 1. Volunteer Time Off, parental leave and unlimited paid sick days. Generous childcare benefits for all full-time employees. You are welcome here. At SAS and JMP, it’s not about fitting into our culture – it’s about adding to it. We believe our people make the difference. Our inclusive workforce brings together unique talents and inspires teams to create amazing software that reflects the diversity of our users and customers.
