Research and analyze U.S. federal and Puerto Rico tax laws, assist clients with PR operations and Act 60 incentives, draft tax and corporate documents, and execute public deeds in Spanish and English.
1-3 years PR and U.S. federal tax experience, PR bar admission and notary commission, bilingual Spanish and English writing and drafting skills, and tax or notarial work experience.
Scope of work • Research and analyze U.S. federal & PR tax laws, rules, and regulations; deliver client-ready guidance. • Assist clients establishing PR operations and securing Act 60 incentives (eligibility, applications, filings, compliance). • Draft tax memos, opinions, presentations, proposals, alerts/publications (ES & EN). • Draft/execute public deeds in Spanish (trusts, last wills & testaments, powers of attorney, living wills, and real estate transactions); coordinate protocolization and registry submissions. • Draft corporate documents (LLC operating agreements, management agreements, PPMs, related documents). Requirements • Admission to practice in Puerto Rico; PR Notary commission (or clear path to obtain quickly). • 1–3 years of PR + U.S. federal tax experience. • Demonstrated public-deed drafting in Spanish and English; excellent writing in Spanish & English. • LL.M in taxation a plus Nice to have • Hands-on Act 60 applications/rulings/annual compliance. • Real estate closings and Property Registry filings. • Trusts & estates planning for PR/U.S. taxpayers.
