Full Description

Salary: $72,000-$80,000 DOE The JEDC Public Engagement Officer is responsible for connecting the community with JEDCs programs through event coordination, social media campaigns, community partnerships, and sponsorship support. This position requires fluency in various platforms and digital tools to facilitate public-facing outreach for JEDC's initiatives. Main Duties • Communications: content creation, articles/newsletters, promotions, social media, websites, flyers, live feeds • Events: planning, facilitation, execution • Sponsorship Support: communications, benefits tracking, recognition, coordination with Program Development Officer. • Tools: Asana, Canva, Constant Contact, Copilot/AI, MS Office, SharePoint, Teams, Wild Apricot, WordPress • Websites: maintenance, target audience, registration, analytics Qualifications • Bachelors degree in communications, marketing, business, or related field preferred; or equivalent experience. • Up to 3 years of experience in marketing, communications, or community engagement roles. • Strong proficiency with digital communication tools including social media, Canva, WordPress, and analytics. • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously using tools such as Asana and Copilot/AI. • Strong and creative written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail in promotional content. • Experience supporting sponsorship communications, benefit tracking, and recognition activities. • Ability to work independently and collaboratively while maintaining deadlines in a fast-paced environment. • Willing to work after hours and on the weekends as needed for special events and live feed promotions. • Familiarity with the challenges and opportunities of living and working in Southeast Alaska highly preferred. This position will work at the main JEDC office in Downtown Juneau. Remote work is not authorized for this position.
