Job Description: Title: Sr Analyst – Automotive Consulting Location: Remote USA (preferably in Metro Detroit) Reports to: Manager, Customer Success The Role: As part of the Data & Analytics division of JD Power, you will work to understand what factors contribute to future vehicle values. The Sr. Analyst's primary function is to use data analysis and grow industry knowledge to develop clear and well-informed consulting projects that manufacturers and related companies can use to improve residual values and sales plans. Projects include recommendations with supporting details related to, but not limited to, pricing, volume, incentives and content. The Impact You Will Have in This Role: The Consulting Team is well-informed of what the automotive pipeline consists of and uses this knowledge along with data analytics to provide guidance to manufacturers that impacts how vehicles are made and sold. What You'll Be Doing in This Role: This position will primarily be focused on ALG Residual Values; however the person will gain exposure to several areas of JD Power’s business within the Automotive Industry, including Content Planning, Residual Values and Incentive Planning. Production and delivery of reports and studies based on client needs/request, leveraging data resources and tools such as Tableau and MS Suite Prepare actionable and data-driven consulting studies for automotive clients including analyses on sales strategies, product competitiveness and drivers to residual outlook Use automotive knowledge and data analysis to make recommendations for manufacturers to optimize sales strategies within the new and used markets Present study results to clients in person and/or virtually Actively participate in internal meetings and project reviews Qualifications of this Role: 3-5 years of relevant experience Strong data analysis background required – must be able to choose appropriate metrics to test hypotheses and design and layout data appropriately to tell desired story BS/BA degree required (preferably in the areas of: auto engineering, business administration, applied statistics, business economics) Knowledge of automotive space with understanding of makes, models and segments is helpful Excellent communication skills and ability to present clearly and effectively Expertise in Tableau and MS Excel and/or large complex dynamic data sets, pivots, lookups, programming, macros, etc. required as well as working fluency with MS PowerPoint Ability to travel ~25% The Hiring Manager says: “If being part of a collaborative, high-performing team who shares an interest in data and cars sounds like a good fit for you, this may be the opportunity you’ve been looking for” Company Mission J.D.
