Overview The Quality Assurance (QA) Loyalty Senior Engineer is responsible for ensuring the successful verification, performance, and stability of all loyalty-related digital products and integrations across J.Crew Group’s platforms. This role will develop and execute comprehensive test strategies for new features, platform enhancements, and integrations within the loyalty ecosystem, which spans eCommerce, CRM, data, and third-party service platforms. The Senior Engineer will act as a subject-matter expert in loyalty QA, providing both hands-on testing leadership and strategic oversight of automation, regression, and performance validation. This role requires a highly collaborative individual who can work seamlessly with Engineering, Product Management, DevOps, and cross-functional QA teams to ensure delivery of high-quality, customer-focused loyalty experiences. The successful candidate thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment that includes multiple technology stacks, release cycles, and concurrent projects. They will also contribute to advancing QA standards, automation maturity, and operational efficiencies across the digital quality engineering landscape. Responsibilities Lead and execute end-to-end QA strategy, planning, and delivery for loyalty-related releases and integrations. Develop and maintain detailed test plans, test cases, and automation scripts to validate functional, regression, integration, and performance requirements. Perform both manual and automated testing of loyalty systems across web, mobile, API, and data layers. Validate data flows and reward calculations across CRM, order management, data warehouse, and marketing systems to ensure accuracy and consistency. Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and DevOps to review requirements, define acceptance criteria, and ensure test coverage for new and existing functionality. Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous validation of code deployments. Partner with environment and release management teams to verify test environment readiness and resolve data or configuration issues. Identify, log, and track defects through resolution using JIRA, and communicate quality status and risks to project stakeholders. Support load, performance, and peak readiness testing for loyalty campaigns and promotional periods. Contribute to continuous improvement of QA practices, tools, and metrics, ensuring scalability and efficiency of testing processes. Mentor junior QA engineers, providing guidance on tools, frameworks, and QA best practices. Qualifications Required Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field. 7+ years of professional experience in Quality Assurance, with at least 3 years focused on loyalty, rewards, or CRM-based systems. Strong understanding of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes. Demonstrated experience in both manual and automated testing frameworks. Hands-on experience with test management tools such as JIRA and Confluence. Proven experience with API, integration, and backend testing. Familiarity with Agile (Scrum or Kanban) delivery models and SDLC best practices. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly to diverse audiences. Preferred Experience testing loyalty or customer rewards programs within retail or eCommerce. Familiarity with Salesforce Loyalty Management, or similar CRM/loyalty platforms. Working knowledge of SQL and database validation for data consistency. Experience incorporating automation within CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps). Exposure to performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner). Strong analytical skills and ability to troubleshoot complex system integrations.
