Your Role As the Purchasing & Planning Specialist, you will play a key role in ensuring smooth production operations by managing material procurement, inventory planning, and supplier relationships. You’ll work closely with engineering, accounting, and production teams to align material availability with schedules and cost objectives. Key Responsibilities • Procurement & Inventory Management – Oversee purchasing of materials and components, monitor inventory levels, and ensure timely delivery to meet production needs. • BOM & Production Coordination – Collaborate with engineering to create and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and support production scheduling through effective material planning. • Supplier Relations & Cost Optimization – Manage vendor quoting and negotiations, maintain strong supplier partnerships, and continuously seek opportunities for cost and process improvements. • Cross-Functional Collaboration – Work with internal teams to align material supply with shop floor demand, support project engineers and production teams in maintaining production timelines. • Data Accuracy & Compliance – Ensure accurate inventory records, conduct audits, and reinforce best practices for inventory control. What We’re Looking For • Proven experience in purchasing, planning, and supply chain management within a manufacturing environment. • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities. • Familiarity with ERP systems (QuickBooks or other systems) and inventory control processes. • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting and work collaboratively across teams. • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and Kanban systems is a plus. Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or a related field. • Minimum 3 years of experience in purchasing, planning, or inventory management, preferably in precision equipment or related manufacturing sectors. • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP/accounting systems. • Strong problem-solving skills, proactive approach to process improvement, and willingness to take ownership on projects/initiatives and drive for results across teams.
