The Wealth Management Research Team is responsible for researching, analyzing and recommending mutual funds, exchange traded products, separate account managers, 3rd party model portfolios and alternative investments. The Senior Investment Analyst – Alternative Investments role is specifically responsible for the sourcing and due diligence of alternative investment funds on Janney’s platform. Additionally, this professional will work closely with sales professionals and other Wealth Management staff to ensure effective delivery of investment recommendations and solutions to our financial advisors. What you are good at: Analysis – Analyzing detailed information from a variety of sources and synthesizing that info to form an opinion and make formal recommendations. Proactive and Detail oriented – Time management, multitasking, and prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced environment. Building Relationships – Connecting with others in a professional manner that fosters trust and creates collaborative relationships with senior executives, colleagues, and external partners. Responsibilities: Responsible for the sourcing and due diligence of alternative investment funds across private equity, private credit, private real assets, and hedge funds Educate Janney financial advisors and occasionally clients on alternative investment concepts and specific strategies Assist in the construction and management of discretionary asset allocation model portfolios used by the firm’s client base Produce written analysis and recommendations funds within coverage area Present investment manager and product recommendations to investment committees Assist financial advisors in implementing investment products into client portfolios Conduct on-site investment manager due diligence meetings Publish white papers and conducts conference calls to educate financial advisors on timely industry topics Represent Janney at industry events, firm-wide conferences and participates in client presentations What you have: Minimum 3 years’ experience conducting alternative investment manager research & due diligence Strong familiarity with various alternative investment fund vehicles, as well as general understanding of alternative investment operational workflow and trade lifecycle Minimum of 5+ years of financial services industry experience Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent experience Strong communication skills with a high-level of professionalism and ethical standards Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team Series 7 and 66 licenses preferred but not required CFA or CAIA designation, or progress made towards either highly desirable Proficiency with Excel, Morningstar Direct, and Prequin strongly preferred Why work for us?
