We are looking for a driven and curious client-focused, part time Senior Water Resource Consultant in our Portland, OR office to support our water resources teams as key advisor. As a key member of our team, you’ll have the chance to work on challenging projects as a senior specialist for projects – planning and executing work with high degrees of technical complexity. You will be coordinating between multiple projects ensure tasks are performed without a hitch. We’ll Expect You To • Develop project and program management strategy related to water resource planning, political engagement, and other opportunities • Provide senior level review of strategic reports • Engage with clients as needed to understand their needs, recommend and develop products and services to meet the needs, and build long-term relationships to support future business development • Provide expert-level advice and services on regionally-based projects and programs to deliver innovative solutions for complex water challenges • Mentor multidisciplinary teams and foster collaboration and professional growth to build capability and capacity within the organization • Represent Jacobs across the public and private sectors and at industry conferences and client meetings At Jacobs, you’ll have the opportunity to help create a more sustainable world by ensuring excellence in environmental compliance, environmental management, and health and safety while working on diverse projects. Here's what you'll need • Bachelor's degree (preferred) in Environmental Science, Civil or Environmental Engineering or similar • 12 + years of experience in water resource planning and environmental compliance, preferably in a role with consulting responsibilities or client interactions • Ability to interact and effectively communicate with a diverse client base. • Practiced in scientific methods for collecting and analyzing scientific data • Demonstrated proficiency in technical writing and editing (publications preferred) • Ability to travel up to approximately 10% of the time Ideally, You’ll Also Have • Ability to work both independently with minimal supervision and in a regionally-diverse team environment • Professional experience with water resource planning, preferably in a role with consulting responsibilities or client interactions • Proficiency in software typical of discipline • Ability to mentally walk through a process to identify and close gaps in written procedures for non-standard tasks to ensure all objectives will be met • Ability to build and maintain successful relationships with co-workers, clients, and regulatory agencies • Readiness and desire to mentor junior staff Our health and welfare benefits are designed to invest in you, and in the things you care about. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
