Your impact We are seeking an experienced Senior Traffic & ITS Engineer / Project Manager to lead and grow our Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and Traffic Engineering practice across the New York and New Jersey region. The ideal candidate is a licensed Professional Engineer with a strong technical background, proven project management experience, and established relationships with key regional transportation agencies. Key Responsibilities • Lead and manage traffic and ITS projects from planning and design through delivery. • Serve as a primary client contact for agencies such as NYSDOT, NJDOT, and the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey (PANYNJ). • Develop and execute strategies to expand the firm’s NY/NJ traffic and ITS portfolio, identifying new opportunities and strengthening existing client relationships. • Provide technical oversight and mentorship to a growing team of traffic and ITS engineers, fostering professional development and high-quality project delivery. • Oversee project budgets, schedules, and resource planning to ensure successful outcomes. • Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver innovative and sustainable traffic and ITS solutions. Here's what you'll need • Professional Engineer (PE) license in NY or NJ (dual licensure preferred). • Substantial professional years of experience in traffic engineering and/or intelligent transportation systems (ITS). • Demonstrated experience managing projects for NYSDOT, NJDOT, and/or PANYNJ. • Proven ability to lead technical teams and mentor junior staff. • Strong understanding of regional transportation systems, traffic analysis tools, and ITS technologies. • Excellent communication, client management, and business development skills. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
