Qualifications Ability to understand and carry out instructions Willing to learn and to accept responsibility Previous custodial experience preferred Reports To Head Custodian Supervises N/A Job Goal To provide students with a safe, attractive, comfortable, clean, and efficient place to learn, play, and develop Essential Functions Removes litter and wastepaper from classroom, offices, and grounds and deposits in provided receptacles Maintains carpet and other floor surfaces, washes windows, clean light fixtures, venetian blinds, walks, storage rooms, utility rooms, and restrooms Performs minor maintenance repairs to building and equipment Reports any needed repairs or malfunctions to maintenance for correction Attends professional development activities Performs other related duties as requested or assigned Evaluation Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of personnel. Salary Information Classification: Custodian (School Building/Extended Days) Scale: Classified Grade: A Days Employed: 241 days per school year Beginning Salary: $12.50 per hour Exception: JPS employees should refer to the Classified Employee Pay Scale Rules of Administration and Implementation.
