Credentialing Assistant, Medical Staff Services, Full Time, Days Job Summary: The Credentialing Assistant is responsible for filing, typing, scheduling meetings, preparation of minutes and agenda as required. The incumbent will also process requests for applications and produce letters and reports for various stages of appointment and reappointment. Duties and Responsibilities: • Adheres to Corporate Credentialing Policies and Procedures, Bylaws, Rules and Regulations, JCAHO standards & elements of performance, NCQA standards, State and Federal requirements, as well other regulatory agencies to assure readiness for accreditation surveys and other regulatory agency requirements/audits. • Communicates noncompliance to the Director of Corporate Credentialing. • Responsible for processing all requests for applications. • Obtain all necessary applicant demographic information from the requester, enters the data into MD Staff, collates appropriate paperwork and ensures use of appropriate delivery method. • Facilitates the entry, storage, and reporting of data elements into the credentialing system. • For example, appropriately enters demographic data for new applicants. • Responsible for preparation of Medical Staff and agendas, minutes and reports to the Sub-Credentials Committee(s), Credentials Committee, Medical Executive Committee, Joint Conference and the Board assuring the integrity of the report(s) and ensuring that actions are communicated appropriately, as well as required supporting documents. • Responsible for producing accurate letters and reports for various stages of the appointment and reappointment based on the outcome of the credentials committee activities. • Responsible for establishing and maintaining a system to provide accurate responses to hospital verifications submitted by outside health care entities for the Medical Staff, being aware of restrictions and prohibitions regarding the nature of material being disclosed regarding privileges and membership. • Responsible for filing, typing, submitting and tracking payroll, ordering and tracking supplies, scheduling meetings as requested by Corporate Credentialing Director, opening and dispersing mail/faxes/deliveries, mass mailings/copies and answering of phones. • Strictly adheres to departmental operations to ensure that smooth operations, excellent customer service, and legal objectives are met. • Promotes and maintains team work within the work environment and practices good negotiation skills for resolving conflicts. • Required continuous increase of knowledge base regarding accreditation, primary source verification and privileging. • Demonstrates behaviors of service excellence and CARE values (Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Expertise). • Performs all other related job duties as assigned. Required Qualification: Experience • Generally requires 1 to 3 years of related experience. Education • High school diploma is required. Credentials • Valid license or certification is required as needed, based on the job or specialty.
