Provide administrative and clerical support to healthcare providers and patients, including patient intake, scheduling, insurance verification, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.
High school diploma or GED required, healthcare or behavioral health experience preferred, clerical and EMR experience required, CNA/MA/LPN certification preferred, knowledge of medical terminology and behavioral health a plus.
Description: Job title: Office and Patient Coordinator Reports to: Embrace Health Clinic Manager Job purpose • The office and patient coordinator provides quality administrative and clerical services for providers, program staff and assists Embrace Health patients with care needs. The office and patient coordinator’s responsibilities include assisting with patient questions, conducting intakes of new patients, chart development, insurance verification, and providing general clerical support, assisting with provider issues and scheduling, and ensuring a high quality of care is provided to both providers and patients. The office and patient coordinator contributes to positive team dynamics and provides excellent customer service. 3 Cs: • Care – Provide the best possible patient and provider care • Compliance – Ensure the program operates within all regulations • Community – Become a resource within the ITP and greater community. A. Care: All employees are expected to provide the best possible patient and provider care. • Ensure patient care needs are met • Assist with provider issues and communicating patient needs to providers • Assist patients with completion of consents and intake process • Reviewing Athena calendar for openings and help reconcile wait list • Ensure all patient forms are completed correctly. • Send medical records as requested. • Answer office, Nurse and pharmacy phones as needed. • Assist with technological set-up and test calls as needed B. Compliance: Ensure the program operates within all regulations. • Comply with forms uploaded in Athena • Comply with all Joint Commission, state and federal regulation related to patient privacy. • Help audit coding and open slips within Athena • Ensure patient eligibility. C. Community: Become a wonderful addition to your local community. • Demonstrate an understanding of behavioral health services and ITP/PMC divisions • Participate in training as it relates to patient care • Participate in team meetings • Keep up to date community referral contacts • Participate in cohesive team environment to ensure program success. Requirements: Qualifications • Education: High School Diploma or GED. Bachelor's in social work or psychology preferred. • Certification: CNA, MA or LPN preferred. • Experience: experience in healthcare setting or social work/behavioral health clinic preferred. • Experience performing secretarial or clerical duties, working with computers and electronic medical records. • Knowledge of behavioral health and community resources for patients in Iowa preferred. • Familiarity with medical terminology and medical team roles functioning with referring hospitals and primary care clinics. Working conditions Office and Patient Coordinator will be remote. Candidates located in IA preferred.
