Full Description

We are seeking a hands-on Infrastructure Operations Engineer to support and maintain enterprise data center environments across two colocation facilities. This is a highly technical role focused on physical server support, virtualization, patching, and enterprise platform operations — including an ongoing transition from VMware to Nutanix. This is not a purely architectural role. We are looking for someone who enjoys being in the data center, working directly with hardware, supporting live environments, and owning patching and infrastructure operations end-to-end. Key Responsibilities • Perform hands-on data center operations including: • Server patching and physical hardware maintenance • Memory and card swaps • On-site support in colocation facilities • Physical server builds and troubleshooting • Support and maintain VMware 8 environments, including: • Managing and supporting existing workloads • Assisting with migration efforts into a Nutanix platform • Provision and administer Windows Server environments, including: • Server builds and provisioning • Domain management, permissions, and storage configuration • Enterprise OS and third-party application patching • Support enterprise infrastructure across: • Compute, storage, and virtualization platforms • Cisco UCS infrastructure • Multiple physical and virtual environments across two data centers • Provide troubleshooting across hardware, hypervisor, OS, and infrastructure layers • Support scheduled and off-hours maintenance windows for patching and upgrades Must Have Qualifications • Hands-on data center operations and hardware support experience • Strong VMware administration experience (v8 preferred) • Windows Server administration in enterprise environments • Enterprise patching experience (OS + third-party applications) • Experience building servers, provisioning storage, and supporting multi-site infrastructure • Strong troubleshooting skills across compute, storage, and UCS platforms Nice to Have • Linux administration experience (RedHat strongly preferred) • Familiarity with Cisco UCS servers • Experience supporting or migrating workloads into Nutanix environments • Experience working in colocation environments • Flexibility to support off-hours patching and maintenance
