About the Role We are seeking an experienced Mentor Coach (Contractor) to support the Advanced Health Coach Certification Program. This contract position centers on 1:1 coaching skills assessments, including rubric-based review of recorded sessions and live feedback meetings with students. The ideal candidate has both deep coaching experience and a passion for supporting skill development in health coaches. You will serve as a guide and evaluator for students, ensuring that they demonstrate mastery of coaching competencies while also upholding ISSA/HCI’s standards of excellence. Responsibilities Conduct 1:1 student coaching skills assessments within designated cohort assessment windows. Review and evaluate student-submitted coaching session videos using the program’s standardized rubric. Deliver written and verbal feedback that is specific, constructive, and aligned with program standards. Facilitate live 20-minute feedback sessions with students via Zoom. Document student outcomes and progress in the learning management system (LMS). Collaborate with the faculty leads for calibration, evaluation consistency, and adherence to competency standards. Contribute insights to strengthen the program based on student performance trends. Requirements NBHWC-Certified Health Coach (must provide certification number when applying). Minimum of 200 documented health coaching hours completed after NBHWC certification. Demonstrated expertise in coaching methodology, health behavior change, and client-centered practice. Familiarity with adult learning principles and comfort in facilitating skill development in diverse student populations. Strong communication skills with the ability to deliver clear, empathetic, and motivating feedback. Proficiency with live instruction platforms (e.g., Zoom) and learning management systems. Commitment to ISSA/HCI’s vision of empowering health coaches to create meaningful impact in their clients’ lives. Contract Details Type: Independent Contractor (1099) Pay: $45/hour Hours: Anticipated 20 hours per week (subject to program scheduling and contractor meeting performance expectations), with the potential for additional hours based on cohort needs and assessment volume. Timeline: February–May 2026 (renewal possible based on performance and program needs). Schedule: Flexible, asynchronous work for video review and rubric scoring, completed within designated assessment windows and evaluation deadlines. Only the 20-minute Zoom feedback sessions may periodically need to occur in the evenings based on student availability.
