Lead Handyman Hourly Wage ISS offers a competitive compensation package including Benefits, Paid Time Off, and a starting hourly salary of $29.00  -$31.00 . Work hours The work hours for this position are: Wed – Fri 7am – 3:30pm, Sat/Sun 2pm – 10:30pm, and may include additional days, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and/or holidays as needed. Key Purpose The Lead Handyman will support the “Manager” in a safe, efficient, and professional manner with preventative, corrective, and general maintenance for the Client. Other duties include, but not limited to, daily assessments of systems, maintaining a clean working environment, and other various duties as assigned by the Manager, while adhering to all HS&E standards. The Lead Handyman is responsible for performing preventative maintenance in accordance with the CMMS schedule, assisting other maintenance personnel with repairs to electrical, plumbing, HVAC systems, general facility, and grounds infrastructure, and providing general laborer support. The Lead Handyman is also responsible for following all processes to support client satisfaction. Success Criteria • Computer Software: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Internet Explorer – general experience • Ability to communicate well with customers, managers, and coworkers • Strong customer service skills • Competency with basic hand tools • Competency with basic power tools • Able to produce a quality work product in a prompt, safe, and efficient manner Key Areas of Collaboration and Influence • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English required • Works and participates well as a team member • Communicate well with others; clearly write and speak to clients, superiors, coworkers • Good organization skills; disciplined approach to daily activities; takes a sense of pride in all aspects of the job • Presents self in a professional manner: neat appearance and grooming. • Able to produce a quality work product in a prompt, safe, and efficient manner • Ability to work without supervision and appropriately with multiple deadlines • Maintain a good attendance record, including notification in the event of tardiness and absence • For internal candidates, they must constantly receive a “meets expectations” job performance review Experience • High school diploma or equivalent • Must be 18 years of age • 3-5 years in Facility Maintenance or related field • Any trade certificate (desired) • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations • Ability to calculate figures and amounts Key Accountabilities The Lead Handyman may not work independently and must work under the direction/oversight of local (Lead Building Engineer, Chief Engineer, or FM), Regional, or Country TS and Account Managers (dependent on space type, scope of work, and dispersion of ISS organizational managers). The Lead Handyman does not supervise other ISS TS personnel or third-party vendors, however they will have oversight of tasks performed. • Completes HS&E training as scheduled; Follows HS&E procedures; Demonstrates safe work practices; Exhibits HS&E best practice culture; Reports unacceptable HS&E conditions immediately • Performs general maintenance tasks around the facility, including door repairs, setups, light mechanical, light plumbing repairs, painting, patching, light bulb replacement, and other general laborer tasks as directed by the Manager • Resolves client customer work order requests on the computer-based work order system • Assists tradesmen with repair, adjustment, and maintenance of HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing systems, and associated equipment as directed by the Manager • Performs and documents maintenance and repairs in a timely and accurate manner • Complies with departmental policy for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials. Maintains a clean and safe workspace • Performs manual labor tasks such as loading, unloading, lifting, and moving materials • Performs general building rounds and is responsible for reporting conditions observed Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
