Overview ISHPI is seeking an Applications Systems Analyst (remote) to support the Command and Control (C2) Afloat Integration Support (C2AIS) for the U.S. Coast Guard Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber and Intelligence Service Center (C5ISC) in Portsmouth, VA. This role will manage the supported systems of the C5ISC and provides services to include system engineering, software engineering, hardware engineering, network engineering, test engineering, electronic engineering, and technical writing. Responsibilities Formulates/defines system scope and objectives. Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and form of desired results. Prepares detailed specifications for programs. Assists in the design, development, testing, implementation, and documentation of new software and enhancements of existing applications. Works with project managers, developers, and end users to ensure application designs meet operational, organizational, and technical requirements. Formulates/defines specifications for complex operating software programming applications or modifies/maintains complex existing applications using engineering releases and utilities from the manufacturer. Designs, codes, tests, debugs, and documents those programs. Provides overall operating system, such as sophisticated file maintenance routines, large telecommunications networks, computer accounting, and advanced mathematical/scientific software packages. Assists all phases of software systems programming applications using multiple software development methodologies including Agile. Evaluates new and existing software products. Qualifications Education and Experience: Baccalaureate Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Computer Information Systems and a minimum of six (6) years applications development experience using programming languages (e.g. Rails, Oracle, SQL, MySQL, .NET, and Java etc.). Certification: A current System Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP) or equivalent certification is required. Additional specific information assurance certification requirements may be required.
