The Solution Engineering and Technical Services (SETS) team at Ironclad partners closely with prospective customers, as well as Ironclad’s Sales, Success, Product, and Implementation teams, serving as a key technical resource throughout the solution evaluation process. In this role, you will report to the global Head of Solution Engineering and Technical Services and lead the Technical Services team, which delivers a variety of overlay support and services for both pre- and post-sale GTM activities within the Customer Outcomes organization. The team is composed of Demo Engineers and RFP specialists. As the first-line manager, you will be responsible for driving high performance across these areas and collaborating closely with adjacent teams. You will also play a key role in shaping scalable strategies for your team to support broader GTM initiatives. What You Will Be Doing Team Leadership & Management As a first line leader, mentor and manage the Technical Services team, ensuring the high quality delivery of key team functions. Oversee the recruitment, development, and performance of the team. Continue to evolve job families and competencies as necessary. Demo Engineering Delivering compelling product demos is essential for winning deals and educating prospects, customers, and analysts. We must provide standard demos that showcase key capabilities and common customer scenarios, as well as tailored demos for strategic or high-value opportunities. Ensure your team supports scalable demo delivery by maintaining repeatable demo environments, engaging stories, and clear value messages for all GTM customer-facing roles. Continue to enhance our ability to quickly create configured demos. Collaborate with EPD to improve tools and environments, making the process more efficient and supporting new and emerging product capabilities. RFx and Questionnaire Responses Responding to Requests for Proposal (RFP), Requests for Information (RFI), and security questionnaires is a critical part of our sales process for CLM solutions. Establishing and maintaining an efficient, end-to-end process for evaluating and answering these requests enables us to target ideal customers and accelerate deal cycles. Ensure your team delivers effective support for RFP, RFI, and security responses tied to sales opportunities. Maintain tools for capturing standard answers, leverage existing customer enablement resources, coordinate with Technical Writers, and actively support response activities. Focus on improving efficiency, increasing win rates, disqualifying poor-fit deals, and providing timely, predictable support. Align closely with teams responsible for updating product documentation to ensure consistency and accuracy. Product Expertise and Product Development Alignment Maintain deep expertise in the company’s products, services, and the broader CLM landscape to ensure the team’s efforts are aligned with delivering strong customer outcomes. Enable customer-facing team members to effectively position both current functionality and upcoming roadmap capabilities. Collaborate with EPD to provide product feedback, help prioritize roadmap investments, and analyze win/loss trends. Work closely with EPD to advance our integrations strategy and platform capabilities. This includes prioritizing initiatives, developing and documenting integration patterns, building prototypes, and partnering with PS and partner teams for enablement, deployment support, and troubleshooting. When necessary, engage directly with customers to educate them on platform and integration best practices. Operational Rigor and Metrics Oriented Growth Monitor operational metrics for team performance, engagement, and utilization to ensure team capacity aligns with our goal of reducing Cost of Sale while maintaining high-quality engagements. Assess the business processes the team supports or leads to identify opportunities for improvement and efficiency. Collaborate closely with Ops and Finance to ensure alignment on these initiatives. Evaluate technology solutions that drive efficiencies within planned budgets. Cross Functional Collaboration and Influence The role intersects with many internal Ironclad teams and functions, and a cross functional approach is critical for success. Build and leverage strong relationships with key partners in Sales, CS, EPD, Finance, Ops, Marketing, and other G&A functions. Ensure your collaboration supports the goals of the Customer Outcomes team as well as the broader GTM functions. Key Performance Metrics This role will primarily be responsible for influencing the following metrics: SE/EA team deal win rate impact SETS team utilization and effective use of capacity Key Skills 6+ years of career experience in sales, pre-sales, or technical consulting for software companies, B2B SaaS preferred 2-4 years of experience in managing proposal response processes for RFPs, RFQs, etc. 2-4 years of experience managing/leading either a pre-sales or technical architecture team Understanding of cloud architecture and modern platform concepts including SaaS, PaaS, cross-cloud data and process integration, multi-tenancy, etc. Experience managing the selection and deployment of internal tools to support scalable business processes Demonstrated partnership with supporting G&A functions to ensure alignment with financial and operational company goals. Demonstrated ability to maintain relationships and alignment with other internal teams and stakeholders, especially Sales, product and Customer Success. Outstanding interpersonal skills, along with strong communication skills both verbal and written. Comfortable traveling for work as needed (up to 25%). OTE Range: $180,000- $220,000 per year The OTE range represents the minimum and maximum of the OTE range for this position based in our San Francisco hub. The OTE offered for this position will depend on numerous factors, including individual proficiency, anticipated performance, and the location of the selected candidate.
