The Role We’re hiring a Senior Financial PR Manager to lead earned media for large financial-services brands - owning the newsroom, relationships, and moments that impact brand perception & reputation, as well as visibility across search (Google & LLMs). You’ll craft narratives, run disciplined pitching, launch co-published studies, guide influencer programs, stand up Reddit engagement the right way, and advise on editorial/affiliate surfaces when they unlock reach. You’ll also ensure our client’s stories are discoverable and referenced across AI/LLM experiences (e.g., how assistants source and summarize finance expertise). What You’ll Do Earned Media (core) • Build, deepen, and maintain editor/journalist relationships across finance/business press; deliver a steady cadence of meaningful placements (features, analysis quotes, exclusives). • Own the editorial calendar and narrative arcs; convert complex financial topics into crisp, timely pitches and newsjacking angles. • Package stories (briefs, data cards, exec quotes), manage embargoes/exclusives, and prep spokespeople. Thought Leadership & Co-Published Studies • Develop original research (survey or data-driven) and co-publish with credible partners (publishers, VCs/accelerators, institutes); oversee methodology, ethics, and release plans. • Repurpose findings into op-eds, bylines, conference abstracts, and media kits. Influence & Community • Design and run influencer briefs for credible finance creators (YouTube/LinkedIn/TikTok) with compliant claims and disclosures. • Lead Reddit strategy (personas, topic maps, AMAs, moderation SOPs) focused on value and credibility—not volume. AI/LLM Search Presence (lightweight, PR-aligned) • Ensure facts, names, and entities in press materials are consistent and citable (fact sheets, bios, references) so assistants can reliably summarize our POV. • Track when brands are referenced or cited in AI answers for priority topics; use learnings to inform future story packaging and partner selection. • Coach teams on source hygiene (clean fact sheets, author bios, transparent data notes) to improve AI summarization quality and accuracy. Partnership & Affiliate Advisory (as useful) • Identify editorial/affiliate placements that unlock audience or validation for PR moments (not pay-to-play as a crutch). Measurement & Operations • Set clear coverage goals and quality mix; run monthly readouts on what landed, why it mattered, and what’s next. • Track downstream signals (inbound press requests, speaking invites, social pickup, lead/demo touches, share of conversation). • Operate with BFSI compliance: claims library, disclosures, approvals; maintain a crisis comms playbook. Qualifications Must-Haves • 7–10+ years in PR/Comms or editorial partnerships within financial services/fintech. • Proven track record landing top-tier finance/business coverage; adept with exclusives and embargoes. • Strong existing editor/reporter/author relationships within the BFSI space • Sharp story instincts and excellent writing/editing across pitches, op-eds, and research summaries. • Experience commissioning surveys or collaborating on data analysis to create newsworthy insights. • BFSI compliance literacy (substantiation, disclosures, review workflows); strong stakeholder management. Nice-to-Haves • Hands-on with influencer programs and Reddit/community engagement that adds value. • Familiarity with media databases, social listening, and pragmatic measurement frameworks. • Comfort guiding editorial/affiliate surfaces as part of a broader PR plan. • Awareness of how AI/LLM systems surface sources and summarize information (no engineering required). How You’ll Work • Partner closely with SEO, Research, Creative, and Client Leads to plan narratives and ship assets quickly. • Option to oversee 1–2 contractors (Outreach/Research; Data Packaging) to increase throughput. • Cadence: weekly story pipeline review, monthly outcomes readout, quarterly planning. Compensation & Benefits • Base range: $120,000–$135,000 Based in New York area; commensurate with experience and market). • Bonus opportunity tied to coverage quality/mix, research launches, AI/LLM referencing improvements, and business signals. • Standard benefits package.
