Role Description IPS Assembly is seeking a Defense Quoting Specialist to support defense bid preparation and quoting activities, with the potential to assist commercial quoting over time. This role works directly under the Chief of Defense Programs and plays a critical role in ensuring that bids and quotes are complete, accurate, and ready for leadership review. This position is ideal for a driven individual who can operate with a high degree of independence, follow instructions precisely, and take full ownership of assigned work. Prior defense or manufacturing experience is not required — full training will be provided — but attention to detail, follow-through, and accountability are essential. The expected start date is immediate or based on candidate availability. What You’ll Do • Support preparation of defense bids and quotes from assignment through completion • Maintain, organize, and validate bid and quote data using Microsoft Excel and internal tools • Follow structured instructions and internal procedures exactly as provided • Assist with supplier pricing research and cost data organization as needed • Organize technical, pricing, and contractual documentation related to bids and quotes • Support occasional commercial quoting activities as business needs evolve • Opportunity to participate in manufacturing floor walkthroughs or training to support industry understanding for quoting accuracy • Contribute to continuous improvement of quoting and bid workflows This role requires a high level of ownership and follow-through. Work identified as “complete” or “ready for review” must be fully executed, internally verified, and aligned with provided instructions. This position is not suited for individuals who require constant reminders or repeated rework. Candidates who proactively close gaps and take responsibility for their output will succeed in this role. Skills & Qualifications • Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office • Strong emphasis on Excel • Ability to learn internal ERP and quoting systems • Comfortable working with structured data and documentation • Excellent attention to detail and quality control practices. • Strong organizational and documentation skills. Compliance Requirement Due to the nature of defense contracting work, candidates must be U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents (green card holders) to comply with U.S. export control regulations.
