## Financial Analyst, FP&A This position may be performed remotely from any of the following countries outside the US: Bangladesh, Bolivia, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Côte d’Ivoire, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Kenya/Alliance locations, Malawi, Mexico, Mozambique, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, South Africa, and Zambia. As a Financial Analyst on the FP&A team, you will provide integral financial analysis to organization-wide budgeting processes and financial reviews that inform decision-making. You will support the annual organizational budgeting processes, preparing value-add financial analysis on revenue forecasts and budget variances. You’ll also support the organization’s financial document review processes and program finance efforts — including donor budgeting, financial reporting, adherence to Ipas and donor best practices, donor compliance, and cost recovery. In this role, you will develop and maintain responsive financial capacity-strengthening guidance, templates, tools, and training materials. You’ll help ensure that various end-users have the tools they need to review and understand the financial condition of awards and provide insights that help them make better business decisions. This role contributes to financial compliance with operational and contractual requirements and reports directly to the Senior Financial Analyst. ### Key areas of focus include: - Supporting organization-wide donor budgeting and financial reporting through review of donor financial documents for accuracy, completeness, fee structure, adherence to Ipas and donor best practices, donor compliance, and cost recovery. - Assisting global teams with donor budgeting and financial reporting for awards as requested. - Creating and maintaining award budgeting and reporting templates that meet donors’ and Ipas’s evolving needs. - Supporting improved organization-wide award administration by identifying needs and developing responsive financial capacity-strengthening guidance, templates, tools, and training materials. - Contributing to the annual operating budget process for Ipas — communicating global guidance, consolidating budgets, providing analysis, and identifying trends. - Reviewing existing or new financial business processes for opportunities to increase efficiency. - Proactively monitoring financials, preparing regular analyses of financial trends to improve overall financial management and cost effectiveness. - Promptly identifying, providing preliminary analysis of, and escalating financial compliance and ERP issues for resolution. - Supporting the upload and maintenance of donor-approved budgets for projects and awards in Workday. - Other tasks as assigned. ### Minimum requirements: - Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) with basic knowledge of a specialized field such as accounting, finance, or business administration. - Two years of professional work experience in a financial capacity. - Ability to understand programmatic implications of financial management and clearly communicate financial knowledge to a range of audiences, including non-finance staff. - Proven analytical and problem-solving skills, with the capability to determine solutions to unusual and complex problems. - Proven skills in advanced Excel functions — including the efficient use of pivot tables and advanced charting functions to analyze and visualize financial data. ### Preferred qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Finance or a related field. - Proven cross-cultural communication skills. - Understanding of data exploration and visual analytics concepts, experience with Power BI, and ERP systems, especially Workday. - Experience working in the international NGO sector. - Working proficiency in French, Spanish, or Portuguese. ### Competencies that drive success: - **Analytical Thinking** — The ability and desire to solve problems drives you to get to the right and/or reasonable answer. - **Numeracy** — You love numbers, are energized by finding new ways to represent and analyze data, and just can’t get enough Excel. - **Detail-oriented** — You sincerely care about the little things. - **Proactive** — Anticipates issues and opportunities, takes the initiative to act. - **Confident and Direct Communication** — You feel comfortable speaking up when you have something important to share and effectively interact with global leaders at all levels. - **Lean** — You bring awareness and commitment to doing work effectively and efficiently.
