Full Description

Job Title: Internet/Web Engineer – Project Lead Location: Remote (Primary Location: Columbia, SC 29201) Duration: 12 Months (Possible Extension) Start Date: December 1, 2025 Work Hours: 40 hours/week Interview Type: 1 Round – Virtual/Online Responsibilities: • Design, develop, and maintain web applications using Ruby on Rails and JavaScript. • Implement new features and improve existing functionality based on client needs. • Utilize Git for version control and maintain clean, well-documented code. • Conduct unit testing and apply test-driven development (TDD) practices. • Participate in weekly meetings to discuss requirements and demo completed work. • Support help desk teams by diagnosing and resolving technical issues. • Ensure adherence to web security standards and best practices. • Provide daily status updates and communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders. Required Skills: • 3+ years of experience with Ruby and Rails. • 3+ years of experience with JavaScript. • 3+ years of experience with MySQL. • 3+ years of experience with Git for source control. • Strong understanding of web security principles. • Excellent oral and written communication skills. • Experience with test-driven development (TDD). Preferred Skills: • Bachelor’s Degree (preferred). • Hands-on experience with Command Line, SQL, and SSH. • Working knowledge of HAML, SCSS, and JSON. • Familiarity with Vue.js or similar front-end frameworks. • Prior experience working as a remote contractor. • Ability to work independently and manage deliverables effectively.
