The Statistics Department's (STA) mandate is to support the implementation of the Fund's Strategy on Data and Statistics, for the benefit of IMF member countries and the global statistical community. The integration of STA's workstreams into the IMF's core mandate, and a user-focused approach, are central to the Strategy. The Balance of Payments Division (STABP) is instrumental in developing internationally accepted standards in external sector statistics, providing technical assistance and training to promote the adoption of these standards, and modeling best practices in the dissemination of external sector statistics. STABP intends to hire one full-time administrative coordinator (AC) to support STABP's activities. The administrative coordinators will be based at IMF Headquarters in Washington, D.C. The selected candidate will report to the Division's management in close collaboration with the Division's Lead Administrative Assistant. The two assistants are expected to work seamlessly in handling the workflow of the Division. Specific duties for this position include: quality control for BP's documents for internal and external communications; providing support for workshops and Fund-wide seminars prepared in the Division (and in collaboration with other departments and external bodies); managing various types of documentation related to BP's capacity development and/or technical assistance activities; and general assistance to facilitate the administrative and project management functions of the Division's management and professional staff. The ACs will have broad responsibilities in the following administrative areas: • Timely support to BP management in tracking and ensuring adherence to divisional deadlines. • Timely administrative support to the division's professional staff. • Quality control of documents and communications, including proofreading and editing documents on behalf of supervisor and/or division staff and ensuring formatting in accordance with Fund style. • Administrative support for organizing and delivering the Division's HQ and regional training work program. Qualifications The candidate must possess excellent command of English, both oral and written; strong knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. They must also have a proven ability to organize their own work, meet deadlines, and work with minimum supervision, demonstrating a high degree of initiative, tact, and good judgment. Strong administrative and organizational skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and a cooperative, can-do attitude would be an asset. The successful candidate will have the ability to multitask, should be able to work efficiently under pressure, and meet tight deadlines consistently. A thorough knowledge of the Fund's organization structure, administrative policies and practices, and General Administrative Orders (GAOs) would be an asset. Educational development, typically acquired by the completion of a high school diploma or equivalent, supplemented by a minimum of two years of relevant experience, is required. No previous experience would be required for those who have completed a university degree. Knowledge of French, Spanish, Arabic, or Russian would be a strong asset.
