Bachelor’s degree plus 5+ years of accounting or finance experience in manufacturing, strong inventory cost accounting knowledge, advanced Excel skills, and experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 preferred.
Cost Analyst – Hybrid (Dallas Area) Location: Dallas, TX – Hybrid schedule (Mon/Tues/Thurs in-office) Compensation: $100,000 base salary + full benefits Employment Type: Full-time Note: A nicotine-free policy is in place. A nationally recognized leader in the food manufacturing industry is seeking a detail-oriented Cost Analyst to support finance and operations with critical insights into product costing, inventory management, and strategic decision-making. This is a high-impact hybrid role ideal for candidates with deep manufacturing cost experience and a strong understanding of ERP systems and inventory control. What You’ll Do: Financial Costing & Analysis • Maintain and evaluate BOMs and standards in line with corporate production policies • Analyze purchase prices, variances, and inventory cost trends • Support month-end close, journal entries, and inventory reconciliations • Investigate and explain inventory losses • Contribute to budgeting and forecasting for inventory-related expenses • Assist with maintaining ERP data (Microsoft Dynamics 365) and expanding system capabilities Inventory & Operational Support • Help document and validate internal controls, inventory procedures, and compliance • Develop expertise in D365 and its integration with MES systems • Provide inventory cost reports and ad hoc insights to support operational decision-making Cross-functional Collaboration • Serve as a liaison between Finance and Operations to validate costing strategies • Participate in cost forecasting and operational KPI development • Support physical inventory counts and budget planning with minimal out-of-state travel What Success Looks Like: • Recognized subject matter expert on inventory and product costing • Trusted partner to manufacturing operations and cross-functional teams • Proactively delivers analysis and insights to improve financial accuracy and decision-making • Demonstrates initiative, consistency, and innovation in all aspects of the role Who You Are: Required Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related technical field • 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance, ideally within a manufacturing environment • Strong knowledge of inventory cost accounting and variance analysis • Experience forecasting raw material costs and understanding operational KPIs • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, nested formulas, logical functions) • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across levels of an organization • Must be local to Dallas and comfortable with a hybrid schedule Highly Preferred Qualifications: • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (or Microsoft AX) • Familiarity with Power BI, Power Automate, Office Scripts, VBA, or macros • Background in the food manufacturing or building materials sectors Why Join?
