Overview: Clearance: Top Secret Citizenship: U.S. Citizen Location: Langley Air Force Base, Virginia Job Type: Full-Time Annual Salary Range: $60,000 – $85,000 Job Posting Estimated Close Date: 1/28/2026 Work Type: Onsite INTECON is looking for a highly skilled Capabilities & Limitations Researcher to support the Air Combat Command (ACC) Interoperability and Standards Branch (ACC/A5JI) under the Joint Interoperability of Tactical Command and Control Systems (JINTACCS) program. This role supports the Tactical Data Link (TDL) Configuration and Logistics (C&L) process by researching, developing, and maintaining technically approved information that enables warfighters, planners, and operators to understand system capabilities, limitations, interoperability considerations, and approved workarounds for USAF TDL systems. Roles and Responsibilities: The roles shall include: • Data Collection: Research TDL systems test reports and implementation databases to characterize how warfighters share information across TDLs. Data collection efforts will focus on providing TDL C&L information and technically approved Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (TTP) on AF TDL systems. • Technical Authoring: After collecting technical information, review inputs and update the C&L information on the site to reflect the jointly agreed-upon core TDL aspects. Present the C&L information concisely and practically, using terminology and examples relevant to USAF combat operators. • Information Vetting: Distribute newly developed C&L material to the appropriate weapon system’s technical community for their agreement on its validity and relevance. This includes vetting by the weapon system’s Program Office or Program Office-assigned Subject Matter Expert (SME). • Technical Editing: Ensure all C&L information meets the agreed-upon C&L business rules, including ensuring proper security classification markings are applied to all material, as well as checking spelling and formatting for consistency and correctness. • Research, draft, and coordinate as required to develop interoperability reports for platforms that are included in the C&L Operator Research Tool. • Research and gather information to develop Background Papers, staff studies, Talking Papers, or presentation materials as assigned by the Government. Qualifications: • Education: Possession of an Associate's degree in a technical field, such as computer science, engineering, or information technology. • TDL Analysis and Operations Experience: A minimum of four (4) years of recent experience performing TDL analysis or operating USAF TDL systems using applicable military standards (US Mil-Std 3011, 6011, 6016, 6017, 6020, 6040, 188-220, and 2045-47001). • Web Content Development and Management Experience: At least one (1) year of experience with web content development and management. Proficiency in: • Research and analysis of Tactical Data Link (TDL) system test reports and implementation databases to characterize information exchange across TDLs. • Development and maintenance of TDL Capabilities and Limitations (C&L) information, including technically approved Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs) for USAF TDL systems. • Technical authoring and editing of C&L content using terminology and examples relevant to USAF combat operators. • Vetting technical content with weapon system Program Offices and Program Office-assigned Subject Matter Experts to ensure accuracy, validity, and relevance. • Application of C&L business rules, including proper security classification markings, formatting consistency, and technical correctness. • Development and coordination of interoperability reports for platforms included in the C&L Operator Research Tool. • Familiarity with USAF Tactical Data Link operations and applicable military standards, including US MIL-STD-3011, 6011, 6016, 6017, 6020, 6040, 188-220, and 2045-47001. • Research and development of Background Papers, staff studies, Talking Papers, and presentation materials as directed by the Government.
