ABOUT THE ROLE Financially strong and trusted insurance carrier with deep roots in professional liability, is expanding its presence in the Program Insurance marketplace. We are seeking an experienced and entrepreneurial Program Underwriting Professional. This is an unique opportunity to join a well-capitalized, disciplined carrier platform focused on strategic MGA program partnerships. This is not a program incubation or build-from-scratch role. This is a pure program evaluation, relationship, and portfolio-building position for a program underwriting professional who understands how successful MGA programs are structured, governed, and scaled. The Opportunity Over the next 12–18 months, our client plans to grow a portfolio of MGA-managed programs where the carrier provides capacity only. MGAs are expected to bring the full program infrastructure—underwriting execution, claims, administration, and operations. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Evaluate program submissions from MGAs across targeted lines of business. Assess program structure, underwriting discipline, governance, pricing, and economics. Identify high-quality MGA partners and attractive program opportunities. Negotiate program-level terms, authority, and performance expectations. Build and maintain strong field relationships with MGA leadership teams. Manage a growing portfolio of programs, monitoring performance and alignment with carrier appetite. Act as a trusted underwriting partner—not an operator or incubator. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE Experience underwriting program business at a carrier or reinsurer. Deep familiarity with MGA operating models and delegated authority structures. Strong underwriting judgment with a commercial mindset. Comfortable evaluating leadership teams, data quality, controls, and scalability. Relationship-oriented with credibility in the program market. COMPENSATION $180,000 to $220,000, bonus, profit sharing, 401k, competitive benefits
