• *AFTERNOON SHIFT ONLY** WHAT WE DO We sterilize medical devices and instrumentation used in surgeries - with a focus on Orthopedics. That’s all we do - and we are setting a new standard for quality sterilization in the United States. WHY THIS IS IMPORTANT Sterile Processing Departments (SPDs) are one of the most important and yet most overlooked areas of a hospital or surgery center. This is a critical and growing problem as staffing shortages, poorly maintained facilities, and failure to adhere to the standards required to ensure patient and staff safety are increasing costs and potentially putting lives at risk. Even though sterilization is central to providing surgical services, it is often an afterthought for most facilities. The people who work in the SPD know it, and the deteriorating morale of the sterile processing workforce is adding to the decrease in sterilization competency. Sterilization is ALL we do. That place is Instrumentum. WHAT WE NEED We are seeking a meticulous Quality Control Technician with a passion for precision and an unwavering commitment to safety. Your role goes beyond the essential duties of a Sterile Processing Technician to focus on the finer details of quality assurance in our sterile processing operations. WHAT YOU WILL DO Instrument Processing: • Process medical instruments to meet the highest standards of excellence, with a strong focus on identifying and addressing quality issues at every step. • Apply advanced technology and adhere to established protocols to eliminate contaminants and ensure optimal instrument care. Assembly and Packaging: • Assemble and package instrument sets with precision, verifying compliance with quality standards and readiness for use. Quality Control: • Conduct thorough quality control inspections throughout the sterile processing workflow to ensure adherence to all regulatory and internal standards. • Identify and resolve quality concerns, working closely with the team to implement effective corrective actions. Inventory Management: • Monitor and maintain accurate inventory records, ensuring instruments are properly accounted for and available as needed. • Perform regular quality checks on inventory to ensure all items meet sterilization and readiness criteria. Safety and Infection Control: • Enforce infection control protocols and utilize personal protective equipment to maintain a safe and compliant work environment. Documentation: • Maintain accurate and detailed records of sterilization processes and quality control checks, ensuring documentation aligns with regulatory requirements. Equipment Maintenance: • Perform routine maintenance and quality audits on sterilization equipment to ensure optimal performance and reliability. Training and Education: • Participate in ongoing training programs to stay current with industry standards and share quality control best practices with the team. WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE TABLE • High school diploma or equivalent. • Certification as a Sterile Processing Technician (e.g., CRCST, CIS, or similar) is preferred. • At least two years of hands-on experience in sterile processing, with a focus on quality control. • Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to work effectively under pressure. • Strong communication skills and a commitment to teamwork. DETAILS This is an on-site position at our Modesto, CA location. We are building other facilities and working with various partners, so occasional travel may be necessary to share best practices and meet with vendors and partners. You will need to fully cooperate with and adhere to all company health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures, communicating suggestions for improvement as necessary.
