Full Description

Company Description InspiringApps creates digital products that help companies make a positive impact on their employees, customers, and communities. Inc. Magazine named us Inc. Power Partners… twice. We were honored by Fast Company Magazine as part of their Innovation by Design Awards. And we've been named a Great Place to Work 4 years in a row. We value integrity, inclusivity, empathy, respect, and a commitment to your craft. We have delivered hundreds of web and mobile apps since 2007 to funded start-ups and some of the largest brands in the world, serving millions of users and winning national awards. Role Description This is a full-time remote role (in the USA) for an AWS Cloud-Native Application Developer at InspiringApps. You will be responsible for architecting, building, and maintaining cloud-native (i.e. serverless) applications and back-end services with a capable team for our web and mobile apps using Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure. Your day-to-day tasks will include designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud-native solutions and CI/CD pipelines, integrating with AWS services, monitoring and optimizing application performance, and ensuring the scalability and security of our cloud solutions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and provide technical expertise. You will create applications independently and maintain mission-critical production solutions we’ve built. It is ideal for a proven individual contributor who enjoys deep technical ownership, architectural decision-making, and hands-on coding without formal people management responsibilities. Although dev-ops is an important skill, the core of this role is application development and maintenance. It is NOT only a dev-ops role. Our Solutions We make heavy use of Infrastructure as Code to build highly reliable solutions. Our largest systems are event-driven, utilizing cloud native (ie. serverless) technologies to allow them to scale to millions of users. You will work on multiple existing mission-critical digital products as well as help to build the next ones for InspiringApps and our clients. Qualifications • 4+ years of experience building cloud-native applications with services from AWS. Experience with Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform is a plus. • AWS Certified Developer or AWS Certified Solution Architect (Associate or Professional) preferred • Proficiency in developing cloud-native applications using services such as API Gateway, AWS Lambda, DynamoDB (single-table design), Cognito, S3, CloudWatch, SQS/SNS, AWS Organizations, Control Tower, and more • Production experience configuring and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions or AWS CodePipeline • Experience designing and building RESTful APIs and microservices • Strong programming skills, preferably in languages such as Python or TypeScript • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like CDK, CloudFormation, or Terraform • Proficiency creating and maintaining event-driven cloud-native applications • Understanding of security best practices in cloud-native development, including key management and authentication • Experience with test-driven development • Excellent problem-solving skills, analytical skills, communication skills, and attention to detail • Ability to work independently and remotely • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience) AI We leverage AI to accelerate writing and reviewing code, but our engineers must be able to reason about architecture and design systems, and write high-quality code independently. We evaluate candidates on their underlying engineering skill, not their ability to use AI. Success The successful candidate will • Independently own the architecture and maintenance of several AWS serverless services • Improve reliability, performance, and cost efficiency of existing systems • Collaborate closely with product and mobile/web teams to design backend capabilities • Keep up with the fast-paced evolution of cloud native app development, AI, and other job-related best practices • Proactively identify technical debt and propose solutions Benefits We offer competitive benefits, including company-paid health, dental, and vision coverage for employees and family members, a 401k with 4% match, profit sharing, respectful PTO policy, and much more. Brad, our founder and president, has over 30 years of software development experience. Management that really understands engineering creates an environment for you to thrive. The position is remote in the USA, but we prefer candidates in Colorado, Florida, Oregon, or Virginia. Salary $110k - $130k
