Telehealth Infectious Disease Specialist Job Post Are you a Florida-licensed Infectious Disease MD seeking true work-life balance without sacrificing clinical impact? We are actively seeking an Infectious Diseases (ID) physician in board-certified in Floridato provide specialized remote consultation services for patients within our network of post-acute care facilities across Florida. This role focuses on the complex infectious disease management needs of residents and patients recently discharged from acute care hospitals. We use our telemedicine platform to deliver timely and expert care, reduce rehospitalizations, and guide facility-based care teams. This is a unique opportunity to leverage your expertise remotely, manage your own schedule, and maximize your earnings through our performance-based RVU model. Set your own consultation schedule within our standard service hours, which include Monday to Friday. We require a minimum commitment of 10 hours per week or 40 hours per month, giving you the flexibility to manage your schedule, maximize your earnings, and maintain a healthy work-life balance. Key Responsibilities • Conduct virtual infectious disease consultations for patients in skilled nursing facilities (SNFs), long-term acute care (LTAC) hospitals, and rehabilitation centers via secure telemedicine technology. • Diagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic infections common in post-acute settings, such as urinary tract infections (UTIs), C. difficile, pneumonia, wound infections, and multi-drug resistant organisms. • Review patient records, recent hospital discharge summaries, laboratory data, and imaging studies to formulate comprehensive, facility-appropriate treatment plans. • Provide clinical leadership and guidance for antimicrobial stewardship programs (ASP) within partner facilities, promoting appropriate antibiotic use, minimizing resistance, infection identification, isolation protocols, and treatment strategies. Position Information • Location: 100% Remote (Must be licensed in Florida) • Job Type: Independent Contractor (1099) • Schedule: Self-Directed, Flexible Hours Qualifications & Requirements • Certification: Board Certification in Infectious Disease (ABIM or equivalent) is required. • Licensure: Must hold a current, unrestricted Florida state medical license or be eligible to obtain one. • Experience: Previous experience in post-acute care, skilled nursing facilities, or long-term care environments is highly preferred. A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in Infectious Diseases is required. • Technical Skills: Proficiency in EMR navigation and comfort utilizing telemedicine technology. • Skills: Strong commitment to quality improvement, excellent communication skills for collaborating with diverse facility staff, ability to work autonomously, and clinical empathy tailored to the geriatric and post-acute population.
