Oversee general accounting functions, including journal entries, inter-company accounting, and financial reporting. Manage lease accounting in compliance with ASC 842 and lead the customer invoicing process.
Candidates must have a valid CPA license and at least 5 years of accounting experience. Strong knowledge of GAAP, particularly in lease accounting and revenue recognition, is essential.
Your Mission: Your mission is to partner with our finance team of which you are a part and operations teams to own accounting activities, including leases, revenue recognition, managing our monthly close, and fulfilling various ad hoc requests. You will develop and implement robust policies and procedures that align with our goals and objectives, guiding us toward continuous growth and success. You will report to our VP - Corporate Controller, Susan Fulmer Outcomes You'll Deliver: Overseeing general accounting functions, including preparing journal entries, managing inter-company accounting, reconciling accounts, and generating financial reports. Accounting for all leases in compliance with ASC 842. You will manage the accounting for operating and finance leases as the lessor and as a lessee, subleases, lease modifications, and the preparation of amortization schedules for right-of-use assets and liabilities. Leading the customer invoicing process, from invoice creation and collections to cash application and reconciliation. Meeting deadlines for accounting close and financial reporting, ensuring timely submission of all internal and external requirements. Assisting in preparing federal, state, and local tax returns by providing accurate and timely tax data and documentation. Calculating, invoicing, collecting, reporting, and remitting sales and use taxes, ensuring compliance with regulations and accurate reporting. Preparing financial statements in adherence to company policies, US GAAP, and external reporting requirements. Developing and maintaining internal controls by documenting policies and procedures, safeguarding company assets and ensuring compliance. Collaborating closely with Finance team members and other departments, sharing knowledge and streamlining processes to improve systems and performance. Who You Are : You have a valid CPA license and a minimum 5 years’ experience in accounting (public or private). You have a strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), in particular, Lease Accounting as a lessor and Revenue Recognition (ASC 842 and 606). You have advanced knowledge when it comes to Excel, and are comfortable with building pivot tables and with other Excel related data analysis tools. You have a solid background in cloud accounting, with experience in Oracle NetSuite considered a plus. You have managed accounting workflows for companies with multiple entities/divisions. You have successfully deployed and managed the implementation system of a new billing system. You ideally have accounting experience in one or more of the following areas: fleet management, charging management, electric vehicles, or clean energy. You have superior organizational, process management, and communication skills when it comes to working cross-functionally and with project management. You have demonstrated advanced time management skills to handle multiple deliverables in a fast-paced, rapidly growing environment.
