Full Description

The Transaction Services Team Lead will report to the Transaction Services Manager in the R&W Operations Department. This role is responsible for overseeing, supporting and monitoring team members as they perform varied duties related to purchasing alternative asset investments. Alternative assets include, but are not limited to limited partnerships, private stock, promissory notes, mortgages, real estate and precious metals. The Team Lead will assist the Manager in assigning out work, reviewing and approving transactions and paperwork, resolving complex problems and escalated issues, and monitoring SLAs. This role will also support and monitor team members in the performance of their responsibilities, and cover daily activities as needed. The incumbent will work closely with investment sponsors, clients and various internal departments, as needed. The ideal candidate will be a problem solver, resourceful and a great communicator with strong attention to detail, numeric and reconciliation proficiency, and the capacity to multitask.   Duties & Responsibilities: · Assist team members with daily responsibilities, complex and escalated issues, research, and other work product · Review and approve transactions, correspondence and other work generated by the team · Effectively analyze, problem-solve and make decisions · Process overflow work and cover team for PTO · Assist with monitoring and maintaining transaction and other activity metrics for department planning and periodic reporting to management · Support the team to meet established service levels · Actively share ideas and assist with the design and implementation of procedures and ongoing process improvements to maximize efficiency, accuracy and control, optimize resources and drive automation · Develop and update training materials · Create and maintain written operating procedures related to assigned functions · Perform system tests and help to maintain test plans to ensure that new system releases are properly reviewed · Act proactively to ensure smooth team operations and create an inspiring team environment · Lead by example and engage the team to achieve goals · Effectively communicate with Manager regarding departmental activities and issues · Respond to inquiries from and maintain effective relationships with internal departments, investment sponsors and clients to maximize service · Assist with workforce management, delegate tasks and monitor deadlines · Other duties as assigned Qualifications Education & Experience: Minimum required: · 5+ years of experience in an investment or financial environment · Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, Business, or relevant experience in related field · CISP preferred   Skills & Abilities: · Demonstrated leadership abilities and strong interpersonal skills · Ability to be detail-oriented, organized and dependable · Possess a strong aptitude for numbers and reconciliations · Proactive and analytical, able to problem-solve and propose solutions · Working knowledge of Trust Accounting System, IRAs, IRS rules and regulations, and alternative assets preferred · Operate efficiently, with a high degree of accuracy and follow-through · Proven ability to both prioritize and manage multiple tasks to completion · Ability to work effectively and accurately under pressure · Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills · Operate with a high sense of responsibility and conscientiousness in delivering results · Demonstrated ability to be a team player · Optimistic with a consistently positive and flexible attitude · Ability to maintain the highest quality of service · Demonstrated strong computer aptitude and proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook   Other Requirements: · Typical schedule is Monday–Friday, 8 am to 5 pm CT; ability to work overtime or evening/weekend hours may be required during peak periods · Employees within a 90-minute radius of our Oak Brook, IL headquarters, are required to adhere to Company in-office work guidelines of 4 days per month minimum from 10 am to 2 pm CT (1 of the 4 days must be a Monday or Friday) · Occasional/Frequent travel (up to 5%) o Ability to provide personal transportation for training or meetings may be required · Prolonged periods of sitting and operating standard office equipment
