JOB DESCRIPTION: Insight Global is assisting one of our clients in identifying a Technical Writer. We are seeking a technical writer who learns products quickly and translates engineering information into clear documentation. The role supports both customer-facing and internal materials and includes direct interaction with software interfaces to verify procedures and capture guidance. Key Responsibilities: • Interact closely with engineers to collect product information and understand product features and capabilities at a technical level • Digest brief engineering notes and informal conversations to draft extensive prose text for both internal procedure documents and external user manuals, how-to guides, and FAQs • Polish and refine rough engineering diagrams into an externally presentable quality • Interact with product User Interfaces to take screenshots and verify step-by-step procedures • Proofread and format text and images into attractive marketing material • Track active needs and deadlines for material REQUIREMENTS: • Excellent copywriting, grammar, and proofreading skills (example portfolio preferred) • Motivated to understand how electronic products work • Responsible, thorough, and detail-oriented • Interested in direct interaction with engineers and gathering disparate information • Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Microsoft PowerPoint PLUSSES: • Minimum two years of experience in a related position or field is a plus • A certificate or degree in Technical Communications or equivalent is a plus • Familiarity with the Markdown language and the Sphinx documentation generator is a plus
