Position Title: Algorithm Analyst Clearance Requirement: Secret or higher Location: Boulder, CO Duration: 9-month contract to hire Compensation Range: $90-$125k Required Skills & Experience - Active DoD Secret Security Clearance - Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Math, Physics, or related STEM degree and 2-10 years of experience - Ability to read, understand and debug scripts (Python or MATLAB preferred) - Strong interest in identifying problems, root cause analysis, troubleshooting and problem resolution - Basic experience with Linux Operating Systems and understanding of basic command lines, files and operations Nice to Have Skills & Experience - Experience with Software performance testing and test case development for complex, mathematically intensive systems and data validation experience - Software Development experience with C++ or Software test background - Educational or professional experience with physics based algorithms for missile tracking/prediction - Experience in performance analysis, requirements verification, simulation, validation, algorithm optimization, data visualization or vector math - Familiarity with Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) and Electro-Optical Infrared (EOIR) sensors and simulations; IR sensor data collection/analysis Job Description A company in the Boulder, CO area is looking for an Algorithms Analysts to join their team in support of classified programs for Missile Tracking and Prediction. The Algorithms Analysts will perform testing, and analysis of tracking algorithms using Python. Responsibilities will also include tool development and maintenance to help support analysis, plot generation, software performance testing, test case development, collecting IR sensor and measurement data in relation to target tracking and performance evaluation of algorithms. The Algorithms Analyst will participate in technical peer reviews and work with various Integrated Product Teams and have the ability to communicate and present technical findings, approaches, and recommendations to the Software and Algorithm Engineering teams. This is position involves reading data, collecting files, generating plots, some scripting to automate tasks (not a ton of writing of code - mostly maintenance of existing code base or occasional new development). It is primarily test, running automation scripts on results to review output and identify anomalies that may have occurred in that testing The Algorithms Analyst will also be responsible for receiving IR data and simulated data, evaluating system performance, tracking residuals, coding and integration in to systems and working through assigned defects. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Physics based and aerospace concepts and algorithms for missile tracking and prediction. Experience with data visualization and vector math would be a plus. This position offers mentorship and opportunities for upward mobility within a large government integrator; Options for various focuses, including Python tool development, SW Performance testing and analysis, with the opportunity to move in to a Software/Algorithm Engineering position if successful.
