Skillset: Epic Integrations Architect Location: Remote (CST/EST time zone preferred) Duration: 6-month contract w/ extensions Day to Day: A Boston based healthcare and cancer research institute is seeking an experienced Epic Integrations Architect to lead integration strategy and execution during a large-scale health system transition. This role will play a critical part in supporting a complex decoupling from an existing Epic instance while preparing for integration with a new health system. The organization is currently operating on another large health systems Epic instance and is transitioning as part of a merger with another major health system. The Epic Integrations Architect will be responsible for defining, designing, and specifying interface requirements to ensure seamless interoperability, data integrity, and continuity of care. This individual will serve as a technical leader across integration initiatives, working closely with clinical, operational, and IT stakeholders to architect scalable, compliant, and high-performing integration solutions. Key Responsibilities: • Architecting and specifying Epic interfaces across clinical, financial, and operational domains • Leading interface design and documentation efforts (spec development) • Analyzing and understanding critical healthcare data within Epic to ensure accurate downstream integration • Designing and validating supported Epic integrations • Developing and executing comprehensive test plans to ensure integration accuracy and stability • Collaborating across technical and clinical teams during system decoupling and merger activities • Ensuring compliance with healthcare data standards and regulatory requirements • Supporting strategic integration planning during organizational transformation Must Haves: • Extensive hands-on Epic experience and familiarity with Epic workflows and supported Epic integrations • Proven experience architecting Epic integrations and interfaces • Strong healthcare industry experience • Deep understanding of critical healthcare data elements within Epic (clinical, ADT, orders, results, billing, etc.) • Experience creating detailed interface specifications (HL7, APIs, FHIR, etc.) • Experience developing and executing integration test plans • Strong documentation and stakeholder communication skills Plusses: • Experience supporting complex system transitions or decoupling or merger initiatives • Epic Bridges Compensation: $50 - $65 per hour Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
