Required Skills & Experience - 6+ years of software engineer experience working in a highly scalable environment - 5+ years of experience with 2 or more of any compiled backend languages (GoLang, C, C++, Java, Node.js, Python, JavaScript) - Experience in an AWS environment, using services like S3 and Lambda. Should understand if they have permission and if not how they would get it. - Understanding of docker, being able to read a docker file Experience building and maintaining backend APIs that communicate with microservices Nice to Have Skills & Experience - Streaming, OTT, or video specific engineering experience - Experience transcoding video in HLS or DASH - Engineered in GoLang - Hands on experience with Kubernetes or Terraform - Experience with Kafka, building out real time streaming data pipelines Job Description A client in the streaming industry is seeking an innovative Software Engineer to join their Transcode team. This team is part of Video Engineering which is the backbone of the organization’s ecosystem. They are responsible for modifying the functionality of the software that needs transcoding, to create a better experience for all end users. Transcoding is taking digital content and making it viewable on all applications. These engineers will have the opportunity to take ownership of new feature developments of their choice in a highly scalable environment from internal business units. These engineers will also provide updates of the code across several environments, contribute to conversation of architectural design, and build and maintain APIs. The client is looking for a team player and a passionate engineer to join their team.
