Insight Global is seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Product Line Manager to lead a technical service team for a large electronics and test equipment manufacturer in Columbia, MD. This individual will oversee a team of 5-10 employees, including Calibration Specialists, Repair Technicians, and Coordinators. This role is pivotal in ensuring the seamless operation of our service center, driving calibration and repair services, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. The PLM will drive team development, spearhead innovative projects, and maintain a customer-centric approach to service excellence. Key Responsibilities • Lead a team of 4-15 frontline employees across various work centers, each specializing in different technical instruments. • Foster a cohesive, collaborative team environment by promoting personal and professional development through stretch tasks, goal-setting, and regular feedback. • Delegate responsibilities strategically to empower team members and drive collective accountability for organizational improvement. • Set a positive tone through exemplary leadership, championing new ideas and maintaining high engagement and morale. • Drive best-in-class service delivery, ensuring team performance aligns with organizational key performance indicators (KPIs) for quality, timeliness, and customer satisfaction. • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product Development and Service Sales teams to prepare the service center for new products, options, and anticipated service volumes. • Ensure customers view calibration and repair services as a key strength of our solutions, enhancing overall customer experience. • Lead continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance processes, procedures, and capabilities, utilizing lean tools, visual management, and 5S methodologies. • Manage individual and team-based projects, ranging from simple process optimizations to complex organizational initiatives. • Engage team members in generating innovative ideas to improve efficiency, productivity, and service quality. • Ensure smooth workflow through the service center by maintaining focus on quality, safety, and operational efficiency. • Implement major and minor organizational changes, ensuring clear communication and successful adoption by the team. • Provide actionable quality data to product development teams to enhance product performance and reliability. • Build and maintain strong relationships with team members through open communication, visibility, and active involvement, fostering a positive and productive work environment. • Develop and maintain favorable relationships with internal and external customers to ensure high satisfaction and trust in service offerings. • As part of the Service Leadership Team, cultivate a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement across the department. • Promote best production practices, including lean manufacturing principles, to drive operational excellence. Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business-related field, or equivalent relevant work experience. • Proven experience in team leadership, with a focus on professional development and building strong internal/external customer relationships. • Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 17025, and AS9100 standards; experience with SAP ERP tools is a plus but not required. • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, Microsoft 365). • Detail-oriented with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
