Job Description: The HR Generalist will execute a variety of tasks within the Human Resource division, including recruiting, orientation, benefits, employee recognition program, wellness program, performance evaluations, compensation, and employee relations. The position will act as an initial contact between employees and the human resource division, providing support and guidance to employees and managers with concerns or questions on HR policies, union contracts and programs. 3 Month Contract Position Key Responsibilities: • Lead full-cycle recruitment: job postings, applicant screening, background checks, offer letters, and onboarding. • Conduct new hire orientation and manage employee documentation in HRIS. • Provide guidance on HR policies, union contracts, and performance evaluations. • Administer FMLA, workers’ comp, unemployment claims, OSHA reporting, and EEOC compliance. • Oversee benefits administration, including monthly reconciliations, open enrollment, and vendor coordination. • Support employee wellness and recognition programs; manage related committees and events. • Process terminations and ensure compliance with legal and organizational procedures. Qualifications: • Proven experience in HR generalist functions, including recruitment, compliance, and benefits. • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. • Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite. • Ability to maintain confidentiality, prioritize tasks, and work cross-functionally. Education and Experience: • Bachelor’s degree in related field of study required or equivalent. • Minimum of one year of related work experience require, three years of related work experience preferred.
