Required Skills: • 7+ years spanning digital product design, UX engineering, accessibility consulting, or dedicated digital accessibility roles, with a proven track record of auditing complex enterprise systems. • Expert knowledge of WCAG 2.1/2.2, ARIA authoring practices, assistive technologies, screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, and ADA compliance implementation. • Active IAAP certification (CPACC, WAS, or WAS+) strongly preferred. • Strong front-end literacy, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript fundamentals, and familiarity reviewing React, Angular, or similar modern web applications. • Ability to assess fragmented product experiences, identify systemic compliance risks, and build scalable solutions through design systems and governance frameworks. • Experience building accessibility documentation, conducting training sessions, hosting office hours, and mentoring teams on inclusive design practices. • Ability to effectively partner with designers, researchers, engineers, legal teams, compliance stakeholders, and product leadership to drive organizational accessibility maturity. Nice to Have • Experience in government, public safety, identity verification, fraud prevention, healthcare, financial services, or other highly regulated environments. • Experience developing or scaling an internal accessibility champions network. • Experience supporting accessibility efforts across multiple product portfolios and shared design systems. • Familiarity with VPAT authoring, Section 508 requirements, and accessibility procurement standards. What You'll Own Accessibility (A11y) Core Mandate • Go-To Expert: Serve as the primary accessibility authority for design and engineering teams across multiple government solution portfolios, guiding teams before patterns ship rather than after audits fail. • Compliance Artifacts: Independently execute manual accessibility audits and author VPATs (Voluntary Product Accessibility Templates), eliminating reliance on external vendor agencies. • Auditing & Consultation: Partner with engineering and Design System teams to audit codebases and designs for ADA compliance, ensuring product teams inherit accessibility by default. • Code & Figma Reviews: Embed yourself into the development workflow, providing accessibility code reviews and component reviews within Figma. • Regulatory Alignment: Partner with legal, compliance, and security stakeholders to manage audit readiness, continuous compliance tracking, and remediation prioritization. • Strategic Growth: Assess and define durable, long-term workflows to scale accessibility maturity, governance, and training programs across the organization. • Internal Collaboration & Alignment: Partner closely with internal business services and accessibility teams to maintain current accessibility standards and onboard product squads onto accessibility evaluation and testing tools. Design Systems Consultation (Non-Engineering) • Contribution Model: Consult with Design System contributors to ensure their design contributions meet rigorous accessibility, universal design, and interaction standards. • Cross-Portfolio Alignment: Act as a connective layer across product portfolios, identifying where fragmented UI patterns create compliance risks and advising on how they should converge into the core design system. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
