Position Overview We're seeking a talented and motivated PhD/MS student intern with a strong science background to join our team on a part-time basis to help with model evaluation, documentation, and curation of our AI for Science newletter. This role offers an excellent opportunity to get a front-row seat into the life of an AI startup working in a high-impact space. Depending on the skills and interests of the intern there will be opportunity to take on more responsibility. You should be comfortable operating in an entrepreneurial environment where things move fast. Key Responsibilities • Build open access evaluation datasets for AI models and tools in areas such as chemistry, materials science and biology • Conduct evaluations of AI models and tools, sythesize and publicize findings • Contribute to our AI for Science newsletter covering the newest research and tools to accelerate scientific discovery • Contribute feedback and ideas to the Inquisite platform roadmap Qualifications Required: • Undergraduate degree in a science field • Currently enrolled in a MS or PhD program • Experience in research and publication • Foundational or better knowledge in AI/ML • Passionate about our mission of accelerating science with technology • Strong writing and communication skills • Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly • Familiarity with current trends in both scientific research and AI • Entrepreneurial nature and high degree of initiative • Must be US citizen / permanent resident or allowed to work as a part-time contractor during the academic year under visa rules Preferred: • Located in the Raleigh-Durham NC area • Familiarity with AI/ML concepts • Experience in building eval datasets or performing model evaluation Details • Hours: 4-5 hours per week • Pay: $20-25/hour • Location: Remote (based in Raleigh-Durham NC) • Start Date: Immediate Location Work may be conducted remotely although we have a strong preference for someone located in Raleigh-Durham, NC in order to participate in on-site meetings.
